Six small paragraphs that taught two major lessons! Great, efficient writing. Not flowery, but sincere. Some day maybe I'll read the whole book! Congratulations on being in the #1 spot!

Thank you for the support. I received a five-star review but only four stars. Please tell me what I need to do to improve to get five stars.

Barbara, This is a very cute story you have written about when their Father was young. It is amazing things that come to our mind about things of the past as we begin to write. They will be so excited to learn about things of the past that happened with their family! love and blessings, Teri

Now this was awesome. Loved the little snippet of dialogue to bring it to life. These are very cool letters. I need to start writing them for my own grandchildren. Keep posting these. I am enjoying them. Gretchen

It's sad that doing what he loved cost him his West Point appointment. However, he went on the make a good life, and most importantly, be a good husband and father.

Fascinating little post. I enjoyed reading this and guessed we were talking about American Football here, not what we Brits call football and I think you call 'soccer'. Your note is painful to read and makes me reflect on my pride that my son is a Captain in the British Army.

Thank you for the support. My husband, his dad, did 23 years in the Army. Andrew wanted to, but knee injury kept him from it. Our oldest, Greg did 26 years in and just retired.

I can just picture your son standing there and saying that to the coach. Lol. Once children know what they want, nothing will dissuade them. I'm sure his own children will love reading this one. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for the support. His girls are so much like him, it's funny. Charlotte, at 5, told him this weekend when he told her she should not do something, "But Daddy, that doesn't make sense."

LOL! Now that is a girl for you, we are the most intelligent of the species!! Lol.

What a wonderful look at your son. I'm sure his daughters will appreciate knowing what type of kid he was. I'd agree he was too young for football, but he knew better and did what he loved. Great job letting him do something that meant so much to him.
These are wonderful posts.

Barbara, this is a wonderful story for your grandchildren. It is well written, and from a mother's perspective of protecting her young son, it shows devotion and understanding of how you guided and let him become the man he is. Excellent. Terry.
