This is a powerful poem. The form enhances the piece. You communicate the theme well. The word choice is quite vivid. Barbara

I like the positive attitude you display in your Rondeau, although I try to discourage the use of words like "thee" in present-day writing. Good poem over all.

Yeah I know, many people discourage that in modern day writing but it was needed here. As The Light will always be deserving of thee. Archaic language is so beautiful, I think anyway. Thanks for the understanding review and the 5, really appreciate it.

Then it has achieved its job. Depression is a powerful foe, hard to break free from and I think something that stays with us, we just have to maintain a stranglehold on it. Thank you so much for your kind words.

This is a great Rondeau, and despite the archaic 'Thee' I sense the authenticity of the verse. Perfect meter, rhyme and for overall. Kenny

Thanks so much for the understanding words of review. I was talking to a friend of mine this morning about thee's and thy's. He said we should make a pact to remove them from all future endeavors. I couldn't promise to do so but said I'd try. Thanks again.

archaic words come to service easily and we all use them when we're learning meter and forms. Watch out for the irregular verbs 'did' and 'do' also. There are times though when a thee or thou is just a perfect fit. It sounds OK in your verse because of the classic language you otherwise use throughout.

This is a lovely Rondeau. Hope I spelled that right. I am still learning forms of poetry on this wonderful sight. I loved your words in this one. Farewell despair, love is here. Excellent writing.

Thanks so very much and yes you did spell that right. I love the Rondeau, they have such a musical feel about them. You should give one a go.

I like this; it's full of poetic affirmations. It also seems to personify despair/hate as a cold enemy. I like the line:
Instilled with hope, my spirit's free.

Yeah, they are enemies for sure. Thanks so much for the great review. Glad you liked that line, it's what kicks the butt of depression.

I love the rondeau form of poetry. Yours is delightful. I'm pleased to see you overcame depression. I get depressed when poets wallow in self pity. I love your repeating line! Nice touch in the last line. Terrific iambic tetrameter.

Not sure one ever really cures depression, it is something one stays on top of, or hopes to anyway. Thanks for the time to read and review.
