Young kids shouldn't scare their parents like that. Don't they know it shortens thier life spans by a few years every time, LoL. Great flash fiction.

Oh, it is a bitter lesson for the little guy! Thanks for taking time to review this little story, Tellis. Now it's time you posted again. It's been a while. Marie

Glad that this story had a happy ending. Sometimes on FanStory we are not sure. Annie could have become a Big Bad Wolf and eaten up poor Ivan. Or Ivan could have become a Werewolf. You never know in these stories!

Interesting piece but so very short. Was there a limit on words? I ask because you point out that you have only 280 here and a bit more might have kept it from being bare bones.

You're right about the quick story. Some kid magazines require just 150 words. Whew! I think they save the room for advertizers. Thanks for the review.

What a delightful read...you've captured the tone just right for an adventurous child who suddenly has seconds thoughts about the decision made, and then is rescued by a savvy mom. Very well written. Josie

Hi Alaska,
This is a delightful story and one I enjoyed from the first line to the last. I was afraid Ivan would encounter a monster of some kind but it was just mom...who might take kindly to him sneaking off the bus! Well done....blessings, chey

Great children's story with a terrific lesson. After reading it, I wouldn't go off wandering through the woods with wolves and bears, and worse his Mother!!! A great ending.

Alaskastory - I enjoyed reading your story. It's a good thing what the boy thought was a monster was just his mom. LOL Kat
