It is so nice to here about a foster mother that meant so much to someone, ususally many do not luck out, this is wonderful, emotional, and I loved it, great contest for this as well, structure is smooth to read, no errors I could see

Ahhh such a lovely poem about a true unsung hero, for sure. And it's true, and about you.
Good meter, flow and rhyming.
Excellent poem!
Good luck in your contest - Cally :)))

A very evocative and bittersweet reflection on the woman who became your primary source of love. I like the rhyme which doesn't get in the way of the message and the two-line stanzas that give the poem a rhythm that leads you inevitably on to the next insight. The part about Santa was very touching and it seems you have finally found peace in your situation thanks to the foster mother you love.

Hello. This is very good. So poignant and expressive. I liked the use of couplets, each one representing a separate trait. A very good job. Good luck in the contest. Ray

Sweet and moving poetic biography. It flows and rhymes very eloquently. I enjoyed reading it and it painted a lovely portrait of your foster mother. She sounds like a wonderful lady.

Poet,
your poem that tributes a foster mother is poignant, moving and beautifully written. Gorgeous art work you used. Your rhymes are excellent. I enjoyed the lines:
I asked to have my mother back.
She left me and that's the fact.
I couldn't get past the hurt and the pain.
All my efforts were in vain.
But you held me tight just the same.
Kept me dry throughout all the rain.
Dear foster mother I hope I'm not late.
I'll never know of your fate.
But I need to say I know what you did.
A hero for me, and my love I do bid.
You poem is a fabulous entry in the unsung heroes writing prompt and my favorite. You will be getting my vote in the voting booth. I'm awarding you five stars of excellence.
Missy.

Thank you for sharing this story of your foster mother and how she meant so much to you. The rhyme in your couplets is good...the meter was a little off for me. Didn't flow as smoothly as I would like, even though I read it twice. Best of luck in the contest. Sue

Too often as a child we do not realize what is going on when we are shuffled to and fro'. Your poem has a happy ending in recognizing what your foster mother had done. I was in a foster home for six years during the second World War. I was five years old, and no-one told me why. I was mad at the world and especially my mother for what seemed to be abandonment. Ofcourse as an adult I understood why. Too late to forgive my mother, and it haunts me to this day.

A very well written tribute, which seems to be coming from the bottom of your heart for your foster mother. Nothing can be more precious gift than an expression of a soul finding word in a wonderful poem.
With all my blessing to you, May I have privilege to say that you are the privilege one, who can express with such a nice craft.
