I love really old trees, you can feel how ancient they are and it always makes me think of the many people who must've seen them generations before me. A well written piece, I really enjoyed reading it.

I enjoyed this tribute to trees, their strength and tenacious spirit as their roots seek to thrive under the earth, as roots go down as deep as the tree is high, a fine post, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly. Thanks for such an enjoyable review. I too, love trees. They have always fascinated me as a child and still do today.
Thanks again for your thoughts.
Have a great day,

Ohhh, VERY, very cool. Even without the picture, this is a fabulous 5-7-5, but the photo takes it over the top magnificently. It's the old adage about where there's a will, there's a way. Very well done, Mystery Contestant! xo

Love this descriptive haiku. And doesn't it fit the image so amazingly well? Did you get the picture and write the haiku or write the poem and hunt the image?
Love it.

Hi Tim,
Well, my daughter went down to the hill country near Austin, Texas last year. She saw this old gnarled tree growing out of stone rubble, roots exposed but thriving! She took a picture with her iPhone and then sent to me. I was fascinated by it and saved. So I had an idea to write a poem about it .
Thank you for your fine review.
All the best to you

Aren't trees just delightful and they enhance and support our environment -what a super image 'stony roots' completed with that compelling description 'tenacious'

I do believe the "roots" of our past ancestors and the struggles they faced and survived are what give our own roots a firm foundation to get through the good and the bad. Life may not be easy, but the Lord has provided the nourishment we need to grow if we just don't give up.
Smiles, Carol
