Charles Dickens called, he says your welcome. I only say that because this reminded me of Great Expectations. The flow and the words culminated into a poem that brought me somewhere that in this day and age, would be considered ancient. Loved it, thank you. Great way to start the day being given the opportunity to read this

So close to following her dreams and grabbing the brass ring, but the dark side of life won again and this time her fall was fatal. Very well written and enjoyed.

Oh my goodness, it's so, so sad, and despairing death on a wedding day, and to the worst, the pretty lady did not get to wear her dress. Your poem captivated and moved my thought! I like it from the beginning to the ending, a great title, and overall it's a well written poem. So therefore, a 5star for an excellent expression of a poem.
