I can relate to this well crafted poem, Wendy. Enjoy these precious moments. It's such a special relationship. I composed little ditties for the children when they were quite young. They know them by heart.

Heck, my heart would also overflow is someone, anyone, would give a hug but history has taught that I am not a person with a "hug me" sign hung on me, and even a shanking hands is challenging. You are lucky.

Yes, I am blessed. Little ones are less inhibited with their expressions of love so I'll take it and value it and remember these hugs and declarations of love forever.
