Maybe the solid food tend to slide away from his tongue in a plastic bowl. I guess we can't be expected to think like a dog. I do know they enjoy rolling isomething that has bad odor. Maybe it gives the a distinctive odor that contributes to their uniqueness. Mama goes and ruins the effort by bathing him. I always enjoy stories about you dog.

I don't know, I am sure. He managed for three years to eat from a plastic bowl, then just one night decided that was it! I tried different colours, shapes, and depths ....
Thanks so much for reviewing. Always appreciated.

Sam and I read this piece together. I thought it to be fairly straight forward, But Sam was laughing so hard, there were tears in his eyes. He said that five stars were good enough for you, but he would like to give Sunny six stars for the way he is training you.

Yes, five stars for me is greatly appreciated. I am glad Sam enjoyed the story so much, and I think he is definitely on Sunny's side. I hope Sam hasn't been coaching Sunny on the quiet! If you hear Sam laughing in his sleep you'll know why! Lol.

... and we, humans, believe dogs understand who is Chief and who are the indians. Wrong.
Before I read what you wrote, I had already thought the same thought - Trying to convince him to eat reminded me of persuading toddlers to eat their food.
Good luck in the challenge.

I don't think you're hopeless at dog training and I'm sure you'll win through! Sunny is a very smart dog and a match, that's for sure! This was a lovely, uplifting read with plenty to make me smile. I hope your foster son is continuing to improve, Wendy. Take care Debbie

Thank you very much Debbie. A lovely review.
Re Sunny, I win some and lose some. He normally isn't offered human food, and I think this attempt at a bribe has backfired. We may even revert to dog food on a placemat with a picture of a waterfall! But I 'm not giving up yet! Lol.
Thank you re Matt. He is home now, and reasonably well, but has very little energy after seven weeks in hospital. It took a while for them to find a drug which worked, but so far so good. He'll get his strength back with a bit more time. Thank you for your care.

I'm thinking that the next time you take Sunny for a walk you collar yourself and hand the lead to him. My goodness!
But more seriously, I would trade the old gray dish for a bright-colored one and put dog food in it - never human food.
(I don't recommend you chasing birds, though.)

His bowls were red and green, both acceptable for egg, but neither for food. He's crazy. And no, he doesn't normally get human food - this was a bribe to get him to eat off a plastic plate on a tray. I think it backfired. He's too smart for me. We may end up going back to dog food on a plastic placemat with a picture of a waterfall!
Lol. Many thanks for the six stars. I appreciate your fun review a lot!
