Interesting analogy, and the shortness of the piece makes it thought-provoking. The writing is stark and inscrutable. Well done. Best wishes for your entry.

Thanks, Wendy. Is that a new picture?

Yes, that's the family. I think it makes us all look a bit elongated. I'm in the dark blue top.

Yes, an elongated version of the fifteen of us, plus Sunny.

Ir's an excellent image- the game of chess- for the game that we call life -difficult to determine our next move on the chessboard of life - well done on the effectiveness of the imagery

This poem, Decisions, presented with an ABAB quatrain, is a philosophic symbolism of understanding when to defend and when to attack. Also, one must decide what he/she would sacrifice to ultimately win.

Thanks, Bill. Sometimes a sacrifice has to be made, and sometimes not.

This is an excellent analogy of life's decisions being like a game of chess. I think we all have difficulty with decision making especially when it comes to the game of love. We all do our best guess most of the time we win but sometimes we lose. I love the real-life picture of the chess pieces on a chessboard.
The decision-makers test our patience as well. They know who they are!

Thanks, Jesse. Achieving mate in the game of love can be tricky.

This is a very good poem with a great philosophy of life. Sometimes we play the game masterfully and then there is a need to make a guess no matter how well prepared we think we are prepared for life.

A wonderful chess analogy. While I know how to play chess, I have never been very good at thinking too far ahead in order to make the strongest moves. (Queen's Gambit on Netflix is my all time favorite series.) You have coined an excellent quote about there being no grand masters in the game of life. Best wishes in the contest!

Loved your poem. You send a great message to your readers. We forge head on into many situations where we must make a decision... and sometimes each decision could be the right one. Just all depends on which direction we want to go. Thanks for sharing this with us.

So true. We learn to make decisions early in life, what toy will I play with, and we go on to making much bigger ones. Our choices make us in to the person we are. I like how you've used the game of chess for this poem. No grandmaster here LOL
Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers
