SANTA CLAUS: THE BEGINNING has been such fun to watch you develop from the first idea to the two paperback copies I have already in my possession. Actually I only have one because my daughter took one look and said "I need one to read to my granddaughter!:
The process was fascinating to watch and to participate in on the very edges of its happening. thank you, Terry, for allowing me to enjoy the process with you. By sharing that process with all of Fanstory, you have provided a map to success in getting a good book published.
The finished product grew dramatically in professionalism of all areas, presentation, story basis, etc. to become a most enjoyable read to share with children --- and as a map in how to get it done.
CONGRATULATIONS! There will be several copies of Santa Claus: The Beginning read in my family alone.

Ann, thank you for all the stars, and your input, encouragement, and questions to help make the book better. I did get a note from Mary who said she enjoyed it too. Terry.

Congratulations on your upcoming book. I'm not sure if I read the posted shorter version or not, but I'll certainly be figuring it out and getting it read along with the whole book at some point. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on your published book, my friend!! I'm so happy for you. It sounds like you have puts your smarts and money behind this one. I wish you all the success in the world. I will seek it out come November. I give away about 100 books a year to my Foundation Fighting Blindness members and to those that can't afford them, or as gifts. I have five now and three on Audible.
Get Santa Claus ~ The Beginning on Audible! It will go through the roof. More and more are reading these days through Audible.
Sending you my best today as always.

Proud of you, Terry. The extra star is for all your amazing efforts and dedication to birthing this book.
I think many Fanstorians would benefit from hearing your publishing process story.
It's great that you went for the top marketing option, as that's crucial to the success of a book.
I'm amazed to hear the proofreader found 400 things to change? Were they mainly spacing typos or punctuation? There are some things that may have been suggestions rather than corrections. For example, in many cases, commas are optional.
Thanks for the mention, too!
Warm Regards,
rd

Rama, thank you for the six stars and all your invaluable work in getting the book to market.
The proofreading corrections (I didn't count them, but it seemed almost every line had something) did include a lot of punctuation. A few tense changes, which, of course, I am famous for as well as a few word choices which after reading, I agreed with.
There were spacing issues caused mostly by the layout work having errors. There were some typos, that frankly, I should have seen, but didn't.
The final seventeen errors were spacing, a couple of typos, a couple of word choices, and a couple of punctuation changes.
In my story about the publishing process, I did want to include all the good stuff and all the warts that still needed to be corrected.
Thank you, dear lady! Terry.

Thanks for sharing those details. I'm glad you have your book polished and ready for print. Wonderful! Warmest Regards,

Did you get your copy, I think Amazon said it was delivered a few days ago. Terry.
-
No...but I will check the package room. I got a strange book yesterday which says My pastebook and has a bunch of pictures--sent from Patty. That's not related to you, is it?
-
no not me.
-
Really wondering who sent that to me! I'll let you know if I find your book in the package room. Due to my hernia, my mom has been picking up the packages and she may have missed it since she was looking for amazon ones

This was a great post. I don't think most people appreciate the work or the cost of getting a book published. I am anxious to see the finished book. The story is an original idea and very well done. People will enjoy reading it. I did! Sarah

Well, good luck with the release. We will have to wait and see whether it is a success financially or simply a return of taxes taken by the IRS. Whatever it is, I hope you'll be pleased.
P.S. - so spell check didn't save you any money?

That gave me valuable information. Thank you for that. So, basically 10,0000 or so to publish a book without an agent or house. You need to send copies to audible and kindle, copies of your book to small channels in your town and state you would be willing to travel to. Just my ideas. Contact all the libraries and book stores in your driving distance to give free readings. Karen
