It hard to understand how anyone could be so frozen in fear as to overlook the joys of the activities taking place in three rings. Now, put me in salt water and watch me watch all around for the great shite looking for dinner.
By the way, I enjoyed your story.

There is too much to concentrate on and having my attention devided I'm afraid I miss something. I really look at much other than the ground when I was ten. LOL

I can understand why that experience sticks in your mind. My first flying experience was doing loop de loops in a crop duster with no doors, and and being held in my uncles lap, not with a seat belt. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. I went up in a helicopter once with no doors. Even with a seat belt I was nervious. I was glad to get back down.

You father must have planned ahead for the special day since he had to take the day off work. I wonder if it is something he wanted to see and taking you meant he could. At least you had time together. So sad you had to give up your starring role at school. Timing doesn't always work out, does it.
This is well told. You were a wonderful child to play along and pretend you had a great time. It made a great memory for your dad, I'm sure. Other kids might not have been so kind.

Thank you for a great review and I think it was my dad who really wanted to see it. I knew he wanted me to love it so I pretended I did. He was a good dad and he tried.

Sorry to hear it was so scary for you. I can see how the circus could be scary to a little kid, especially when you didn't feel safe to begin with. Lions and tigers and people flying on trapezes might not have been something you wanted to see. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Cindy. I appreciate the review. I was just really afraid of heights and I didn't realize it until I had sit on those bleachers.

Even though I enjoy reading about thew family you raised, I rally enjoyed this tale of you and your father. I guess we all remember our first circus. Too bad they're not around anymore. Like your father, I was thankful for the daughter The Lord gave me.

These are cool memories that your dad helped create when, as you said, he may have wanted to live vicariously through his daughter. He did a good thing, I think.

Thank you Bill, I loved my Dad and he liked being around me. I have many good memories of him. He was proud because I looked a lot like him.

Well for one who didn't want children, your father really got into the swing of things and was obviously having a second childhood! I can certainly understand how you, as a small child would have felt quite frightened by some of those 'delights' he shared with you. And I can definitely relate to your acrophobia. There are some small edits: first sentence - he didn't (want) any kids; para starting The idea of going up in (an) airplane; Daddy tended to (be) very money conscious; since I didn't (weigh) enough... para starting Inside the tent... bleachers towering to near top of tent? With sawdust everywhere we (stepped)?; para starting It seemed the show went on forever... was every (bit?) as frightening as going (up?); I do think your father sounds quite fun though but it's an awful image of you walking on a vibrating plank. I feel quite dizzy thinking about that! Thanks for another of your action-packed chapters, Beth. Take care Debbie

Wow! I had a lot of error. My daughter usually read over these before I post them but I couldn't find her today. Dad was okay. He didn't like noise and he had a problem with boy children so he didn't bond with Don but he loved my daughters. Thanks so much for your help.
