I do like this poem - it is cute and amusing and reads well throughout. The rhythm is consistent and the rhyming has been well thought out. Unfortunately I did not see any fairies of gnomes yesterday but one of my cats is quite pixieish (?) - does that count.

I rarely give a six to poetry, but I just love this. When I read poems, I read them aloud - searching for the rhyme and rhythm of the words. This just danced as I read it. And what an image you create for us in the first stanza.
Perhaps now I believe also!

I grew up believing in Faeries....because of my mother, who said that as a child she would go out early in the morning and search the trees for faerie

National fairie day is celebrated all over the world! I am not sure if I believe it or not but I like to imagine there is a world of fairies who dance and sing with abandon. I love the prospect of fairies and leprechauns who live in the underworld and have a life all of their own.
