I guess this could be classified as decidedly reflective, with a poignancy, looking back, enquiringly, with that that feeling of repeating sonorousness, beautifully written, with a good ending of 4/4/8/9, really half prose/free beautifully written, blessings Roy

Love the read, words and poem, though the emphasis on mirror seems to have lost its way, as the mirror projects now, not illusions or snaps, maybe I lost my way throughout this work, if so please let me know, I did thoroughly enjoy this, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

That is the best way to be. Don't look at the now, remember what brought you to this place, those wild fun days. Then you can move on and enjoy what is left of your life. Your ending was perfectly, walk away and don't look back. Well done and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

Crazy thoughts most of us have, if we're honest! Love your line: "rejoining A life already in progress...". Time's going to slip away in one manner or another, we might as well dance!

I've never been brave enough to write openly and honestly about my own life and it's a little hard to say for certain whether you do that here about yours, but the focus is certainly on self-reflection as demanded by the prompt and the narrative of rejecting the mirror's reflection for a more positive image is a strong one.
The dichotomy between the 'stranger' in the mirror and the 'voice' of the poem is perfectly represented by the use of third person ;she' for the mirror image and first person 'I' for the resolute viewer who seizes the moment to change her life.
I imagine this will do well in the voting.
Good luck.

An excellent poem, and she is becoming victorious over all that has held her back in the past, whether it be inhibitions and insecurity, mental illness, abuse ... whatever. Now she steps forward with a new clearer vision, and progresses into her future. Well written. Best wishes for your entry.

Your dramatically expressive poem describes self-examination at its most productive--staring down the past, the troubling parts and the good ones,
coming to terms with it, smiling, and walking away.

This is an excellent and heartfelt free verse poem. It addresses many of the causes of emotional distress. The author's notes explain it well when it says untangling my crazy thoughts. Most of the lines are smooth with some rough edges in other ones. I like how the author represents us in all our imperfections. Looking into a mirror and then in the last verse telling herself to walk away and never look back. That is the crux of the matter and one that needs to be looked into by all of us. Not looking back, and instead, facing forward is the way to be in life.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for letting me share mine.

You did a fantastic job in getting to the point of no return. The picture is a great reflection on looking forward, not back. Inner battles must be faced head on. The mirror in your mind, you must cast those dark shadows and deal with a clear mind. Thank you.
