"Your laughter echoes and your memories sing,
my heart listens, and you live again."
A great entry for this contest and such true words. So many little things trigger memories of our loved ones and we can feel them with us once again.

Oh, Anne, you make my heart sing too! I can not compete with all the wonderful poets on this site, but I just had to share this morning as I thought of my husband; I just had to share. Thank you so much for spreading a little sunshine on my day.
Smiles, Carol

You are welcome. You did a great job on this poem. After 21 years, I still feel my husband near at times. Can't wait to meet him again in heaven.

It will be two years on the 9th and seems impossible to hurt this much... but I do. As you so well understand.

Carol,
Oh, my. This could apply to so many here. I realize you're probably speaking toward your lost family members -- but this piece works exactly for all our fallen writers at FS. How tragically sad!
This was beautifully expressed in your wonderful style - and look! I'm on time!

It is what most of us strive to find in our lives. Love. And that too endless love. That one person who has seen our good sides, flaws, and bad habits but loves us anyway. You have said the essence of love in a few words! Much enjoyed. Good luck in the contest!

Thank you, Seshadri,
Appreciate the thoughts and good words on my poem. I am generally not a poet, but my thoughts were on my late husband. Appreciate it very much.

What a wonderful way to remember a loved one. I know this is a hard time for you and I hope you can focus on the times you had together -- and will have again in the next life.

Good day, Susan
Yes, my thoughts were not in a good spot this morning, but I tried to do my best. Then I saw that I was one short for being posted as a poet...LOL. Added a bit of humor next. Now it's time to resume the writing again....So now I am officially a poet on this site again. Woe is me! or you for having to read.
Smiles, Carol...

-
Right! Tell me that after you read my next poem......LOL

Okay. 😀

I really like your four line poem. We do retain the memories of those who have passed on. If we think about it we can almost hear their voices in our heads and it is like they still live.

Hello Carol, this is a great way to view those who have passed before us and, who continue to touch our lives. I love this four-line piece and the way it moves through the mind as I read it. We have all lost those who are near and dear to us and, this gives us the opportunity to thank them for the joy they brought to our lives.
Have a wonderful day, Carol.

Good afternoon...
Hope you had a wonderful celebration with the family. And my Happy Birthday song was off-tune but sincere. LOL
Mike's anniversary date is approaching and I was thinking of him when I saw the contest. I don't expect to win, but it felt good to share my thoughts.
Smiles and hugs, Carol

I know, those anniversaries soften over the years, but they never leave us. And they shouldn't either. I'll never forget those I've loved and lost, and I'm so looking forward to the day we meet up again. Keep that in mind, my friend. You will hug him again. Love and hugs back. xx

Thanks!

Yes, those memories keep all who have gone on before us alive in our hearts and minds, letting us enjoy yet another smile or sweet thought. Then, it's time to step in line and take our place, to follow. The cycle of life, the joys, and the heartaches. Thanks for sharing.

I bet you thought the poem was about you. LOL, You are forever in my heart, but you don't get first place.... And neither one of us had better be eager to get in that line of saying goodbyes.... I'll get past this next week and be able to move forward and smile again. In the meantime, it's your job to keep me laughing.
Smiles and hugs, Carol

No, I never thought the poem was about me. But, if we live long enough, we face many losses and none are ever easy. Smiles and hugs to YOU! Ric

I know have a greasy egg splattered all across my face... I should never try to be funny.

LOL. I think you do funny as well as you do everything else. But sometimes, people drop a tack in your shoe just to make you have to hop. Have a wonderful weekend!

Our lost loved ones always live in our hearts. I enjoyed reading your contest entry. You said a lot and used only a few words. It takes me 80,000 to say anything. LOL Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

I am the same, Barbara. You will never know that it took me all morning to finally make this work and then I struggled between "you live again" or "love lives again". Condensing isn't my specialty. LOL
Thanks so much and have a great day! Smiles, Carol
