The author's words are just lovely. What a beautiful tribute to our Heroes.
The poem flows and connects well. For me the poem was heartfelt,
descriptive and creative. Thank you for the author's notes - this devotional poem speaks volumes. Thank you....

There's nothing glorious about war or the consequences of that war, both sides suffer losses, both sides lose loved ones, they both have loved ones at home. Your poem is more about the ones left behind than the ones who go, it takes a lot of courage to wait for someone that may not return. Beautifully and sensitively written, well done, blessings Roy

This is a most touching and heart-stirring poem Irish. I'm glad you posted it, even if after Memorial Day. There is always a place for honoring our brave countrymen and women who give their all for others. Thank you so much for this wonderful reminder to honor and to appreciate just how much they have done for us. MM

Irish, I am sorry for your losses. I am glad you have faith enough to know that you will see them again. I like that this is from the point of veiw of your son. It is a good devotional to your two heroes and ours also.

I wish I still had a six for this. I was crying before I was even halfway through. You should have entered this in a contest. I think it's a winner. I do hope you find other venues for publishing it. Maybe the local VFW has a newsletter? Or if you live in a small town, they might publish it next Memorial Day? Or maybe you're working on a book of poetry of your own?

Five stars is not enough for this lovely poem. It nearly broke tears to my eyes. You couldn't had written it any lovelier. I love it. It is so sad to lose a love one in a war. It's just not fair. I lost a boyfriend who was going to come home. It still hurts when I think about it. We wonder sometimes why him? But only the maker knows. I feel so bad for you. It hurts. You did a GREAT job. You will get my vote. It is so sad. I love the picture. I might put up my Remembrance Day poem sometime. You take care. It would be so scary if we knew the future. God loves us too much to allow us to know. Take care Lay your burdens at the cross.

If only I had six stars...this is excellent poetry in its form and grace...perfect in every way and my tears won't stop! You are a premier writer, dear Poet. Give us as much as time allows, please.

This poem is outstanding with rhythm scheme and meter. The theme touched my heart deeply. For you see I spent 33 years in the US Army and lost soldiers in my command and was wounded in combat myself by an IED blast during my fourth deployment to Iraq. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are for you, your son, and your family.
