Years ago 45's. We're a big thing to have it was all the rage now in our time it's cd's and etc. the Beatles were a big hit! Everyone shopped for those bargains even today they are making a comeback. Diners loved to hear the juke box while they were eating.

Oh my gosh, your work sent me skipping, happily, down memory lane! Thank you for the reminder about the "fab four", and the music so many of us had the privilege of enjoying while it was brand new (on LP's and 45's). Wishing you the best. I suspect Paul would appreciate your tribute!

Oh, Sally, you do bring tears too my eyes. So many early memories, I was only a child when they came out in Denmark. In those days, we were always a year behind. So it was in 1964 when I first heard any of these. I was 12 years old and astonished. Thanks a lot for sharing your wonderful free verse. Ulla xxx

Hello Sally, I love this - I could not have written this any better and every word you write I identify with - especially Yesterday - and of course how the time flies - it's frightening. Great nostalgic gem. Love Dorothy xxx

Your poignant remembrances are so sustainable. Your 45's are worth a bit of money now. LOL. I agree, with your artful poem about Yesterday. I loved that recording and still do. He was outstanding. I believe his contribution and looks had a lot to do with their success. One in a million when it came to writing music.

Oh my goodness Sally you brought back some amazing memories to me with this post. I had the Beatles on my satchel and of course Paul was my favourite. He has had a wonderful career in music and he is an amazing song writer too and I know all their songs and the words! The most poignant part of your poem is that all only seems like yesterday and your touching words here pulled at my heart strings as we keep those memories close and never forget the past, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hi Sal.
I remember when the "meet The Beatles" album first came out. One of my high school classmates have a birthday party the day that the Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan show. I'll never forget that evening.
I think the first 45 that I bought was a little before that. I bought the Marty Robbins "El Paso.". I even remembered why I paid $0.25 for it. It was over 3 minutes long. HAHAHA
(*Z*) Pal.

Sally you've described perfectly what it was like to be young during the "British Invasion". The Beatles and these three tunes were my favourites too, and they're still in my playlist.

Brings me back! Poignant reminiscences of an iconic group. Witty wordplay--Yesterday he flew off to join Wings. I think the piece would read better cast as prose. Nice work. Thanks for the bonus tunes!
