This is really good work Sandra! The eagle is my favorite bird, so majestic. It is the perfect symbol and example of power with its piercing eyes and regal appearance. I like everything about this and enjoyed reading this informative and well written work. Well done!

Another great entry into your alphabetical collection. Your explanation of the eagle was excellent and really let me visualise it, and I'm sure Eric will say the same. Eagles are amazing animals, and you have done them great justice!

Enjoyed your poem and all the interesting information on the eagle. (I was secretly hoping for the Elephant.) We have many eagles in our neighborhood and the only disappointing thing is their call - they sound like seagulls. In movies, the use another bird's call because it doesn't sound majestic enough.

A few thought it would be the elephant, but they are used a lot in alphabet books. I thought Eric would like something different as he has also seen elephants, but never an eagle. Thank you so much for reading about them, Helen, I'm glad you're not too disappointed. (I hope) :)) Have a lovely day, my freind. Sandra xx

This is an interesting and informative post, especially the part about Mexico and how the Aztecs looked to fulfill the prophecy by building on such a tough spot. I like the faithfulness of the eagles pair and that the "old man" helps out at home. Great job. Marilyn

Thank you so very much for your lovely review and for the lovely six stars, Marilyn! They are very loyal to each other and normally mate for life. Humans could learn a lot from them. I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading this one. Thank you, my friend. Have a lovely day! :)) Sandra xxx

The wedge-tail eagle is Australia's largest eagle. Quite a few get killed on the roads and one belief is that, having no predators, eagles don't see cars as a threat. Thanks for your poem and interesting facts.

Thank you so much, Judy. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this one. I can quite understand the thinking that the eagles think they are safe from everything, it must come as a shock when in the last moments, they realise they aren't. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you so much, Chuck, I'm delighted you enjoyed my letter E. It was such fun researching them. I'd love to come back as one, if we are allowed! lol, even though my totem animal is the bear. That would be good, too!! Have a wonderful day, my friend. :)) Sandy. xxx

You would think the eagle would choose a more comfortable perch! Sitting on a cactus eating a snake is not my idea of a good time. You've chosen another interesting animal. Most ABC books have 'e' for elephant. The eagle was a nice choice.

I know, lol, he must have a cast iron bottom! Thank you so much for reading letter E, Cindy. I had many reviewers in the last letter guess that it would be the elephant, but they were pleased when they read about the eagle. Thank you again, my friend, for another lovely review. Have a wonderful day! :)) Sandra xx

There's no accounting for Ben Franklin's bird choice there - brilliant man but definitely an 'odd bird'... ;) :) Absolutely LOVE the eagle - my favorite bird of prey (of course, birds of prey are my favorite period.)!! We have them nesting around here (I live just under a mile from the Tennessee River and the huge Guntersville Lake) and to see one in flight, especially as it swoops down so that you can clearly see the power and the grace - there are just no words, Sandra. It truly gives you chills! And that cry of theirs.... no words. :) ;) ;) ;) So, guess what? I love your choice for the letter 'E'!! ;) LOL! Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette

Thank you so much, Yvette, I'm glad you liked this letter. I was gobsmacked at all the information I found out about them, I could have gone on with loads more, but I didn't think it would interest the youngsters. You have the best of all worlds where you live, haven't you? I'm lucky, too, but the golden eagle we have in the UK is up in Scotland. They have recently bred fisher eagles on our Isle of Wight, that's not far from me, a short ferry ride. That will be interesting to see. They are such interesting creatures, I'll be asking if I can come back as one on my next trip to Earth!!! LOL. Thanks, dear friend, I loved your review. Have wonderful day. :) Sandra xxx

Your entry into your abc book is great, Sandra. I enjoyed reading it. Your poem flows smoothly. I believe young kids will really enjoy it. Your notes are super. The eyesight of eagles is amazing. Your fun facts are fun for all--not just kids. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

My mom is positive that my dad, who passed away five years ago, has an eagle fly overhead to check on her and make sure everything is all right. One just never knows. Thank you for sharing.

We don't know, you're right. Some people say the same about butterflies. I think it's a comforting idea and does no harm to anyone. Thank you for reading my letter E, Barbara, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx
