Reminds me of those ironically morbid nursery rhymes, like the baby falling out of the tree. LOL Excellent limerick with horror-humor. What an odd word! Interesting. Good bouncy beat and flow with fine rhyming, but I do have two suggestions:

but the rope(--)it was wet(,)
and the lad had no net;

Great rhyme in the closing. LOL
Warmly,
rd

    I managed to gross a few people out, I think -- including myself lol

    Many thanks, RD. I'll look at corrections in the morning. Way past my bed time here, and I think I'm about to turn into a pumpkin :)

    Cheers, Craig

EEEEWWWWW
But I have to admit it is a perfectly done limerick in meter and rhyme. The word fits perfectly into the piece and the imagery is ... good.lo

Very interesting word, Craig. I enjoyed your fun limerick. Well, maybe not so much fun for the schoenobatist. Not a profession I'd want, but I learned a new word. He looks a little apprehensive, doesn't he? Marilyn

    Can you blame him? Many thanks, Marilyn. Glad you enjoyed :) Craig

    No, I don't blame him at all. Some people chose unusual professions. My son went skydiving this weekend and he's a scuba diver. Not my cup of tea but different strokes.

I like your poem. It has humor, and I got a good chuckle out of it. You seem to have a knack for creating a good poem rhyme so keep up the good work, and I hope to run into more of your creations.

Poor Sam indeed. Joking and waving on a tightrope is asking for trouble at the best of times. On a wet rope? Particularly foolhardy. No wonder he came to a sticky end.

Ha! Hilarious. Thanks for introducing me to yet another new word, and for the laughs. Another very well-crafted piece - not that I'm particularly surprised by that!

    Thanks very much, Robbie. When in doubt, or pressed for time, turn to limericks ;-) Most grateful, Craig
