Did you ever learn semaphore? Your post just reminded me of that other flag related thing I learned in Girl Guides.
That said, a fine poem in great metre and rhyme and good for you for sticking with how the words unfold. Honesty still goes a looooooooooooooooooong way in my view.

I didn't learn semaphore, but I have seen "Flying High", which has the best scene with flags I know of :)
