Thanks so much for helping us remember. We often don't realize how much of the world was involved in those world wars. I'm also thankful for the Australian and New Zealand and Canadian soldiers who fought in the Korean War.

I commend you on a great verse you wrote as a memorial to your fallen soldiers and the fight against the tyranny of the Ottoman Empire. We don't seem to hear about WW I very often. Thanks for your poem of honor to them.

Christine- this is a lovely commemorative acrostic poem.
I am wracking my poor, forgetful brain trying to think of the movie I saw, many years ago about Galipoli and the fighting in the trenches and the horrible slaughter - I think it was Mel Gibson'e first role. I remember that movie haunted me for weeks afterwards.
At any rate, you did a wonderful job.

a very good acrostic poem remembering fallen heroes. two songs I found one night, now on my permanent play list; (who will come) Waltzing Matilda with me.
and the incredible, 'I was only nineteen'. I hear them when I read your poem.....meeshu
