Well done....what a powerful 10 words....they paint a image of the before, middle and ending. The words spell out the emotions that become so powerful they overwhelm and over shadow the deepest part that hides regret, hope, etc.
Congrats!

Thank you so much, Jen, for your wonderful review and rating. I truly appreciate it. So many of us have experienced this situation. However, I was one of the lucky ones. I got that second chance and took advantage of it. My wife and I have been together for 50 years this past November. And, I thank God every day for such a loving woman for my wife. I hope and pray that your life is blessed in many ways, Jen. Take care of yourself...Bill

Hello Cedar,
An excellent monostich. Congratulations on your winning entry! Your message speaks volumes of truth. Very wise words. I always shared with my students that if people communicated freely and openly so many of the world's problems would be eliminated. Thank you for sharing!

An endearing thought, it made me wonder how one allowed the parting, as its given revelation the ideal of separation was wrong. The view defining the monkey hand in jar holding candy, not able to pull it out.

So much meaning in so few words. There is no guesswork as to the message you're trying to convey. Those what if moments will get you every time, sometimes later than sooner. I enjoyed this well written with few words work.

A very well-written Monostich. We say a lot of things that sometimes don't have any meaning. We hold back to say the things that are important and realize it too late. Once again Congratulations for winning the contest.
