I'm glad that you always put a recap of what happened last chapter, Shari. It's been awhile, and my mind has a tendency to wander.

Victims become passive and sit in front of TV for hours, sleep more than usual. Frank would be in bed by nine-thirty and sleep until ten or later. An hour after being up, he'd say, "I'm ready to go back to bed." Instead, he would turn on television. (My son says, "That's the same thing as sleeping.") ... Yeah, well, your son is pretty much right I think, at least where watching television is concerned. Unless you consider game shows and reality shows mentally stimulating.

Gee, my hair is thinning. I wondered if I could rest the back of my head on his tits and get my glorious mane back. ... Keeping those thoughts to yourself...I'd say that was a wise decision on your behalf, Shari, lol...

Hormone Nightmare in 2015. ... That title alone sounds like a new idea for a reality show.

Good writing, Shari. I eagerly await the next installment.

LOL. Love your last statement about a reality show. Thanks as always for your comments on details that struck you as funny.

Very vivid description of your efforts to get the proper medication. Isn't terrible the way you have to consider the benefits of taking a medication as well as all the side effects. And the cost of it all. I pay a hefty price for prescription coverage, so not much out of pocket expense for most prescriptions. Oh, dear, now I'm thinking. My husband sleeps late in the morning, usually takes long naps during the day, and watches TV in the evening. He appears to be still sharp mentally, so maybe it's just old age. Hope your daughter does decide to make the trip soon if she hasn't already.

I admit to taking afternoon naps every day as long as I don't have somewhere to be. Supposedly, that's good for prevention of heart attack and stroke. As long as your hubby has his memory, don't worry.

HI, Spitfire. I sometimes doze off watching TV if I haven't slept well or got up extra early. Ah, the issues that come up as you get older. judi

Oh no! I thought this was all sounding SO good! Your note at the end has me more than a bit nervous now. YIKES. I don't know whether to cheer at the diagnosis (always good to finally have one!) or winch at what might be coming! I'll stand in animated suspension till next time...

Hello,

I'm following your story with great interest and can't wait to see where it will take us next. You are doing a great job writing it.

I'm sorry for your difficult challenge. I can identify with the nightmare of dealing with serious illness, insurance bullshit, overpriced medicine, etc...

I pray for both of you.

Gypsy

I can use all the prayers I can get. Thanks, Gypsy. You won't believe the hassle with the doctor's receptionist that comes later.

I am both amazed and impressed with the emotional strength you have to deal with all of this. Of course, this is your husband and I wouldn't expect anything less from you. I found this very well written with strong descriptions that pulled me into the story. I've been gone for three days on what I call a fun, exhausting trip to hell and back. I don't have the energy to respond to the 3,000 plus posts in my in box and am going to have to delete most and, once again, start from scratch. I anxiously look forward to your next post.

Smart girl. That's what I do when the number of PM's is larger than my age. I delete most, but then if they review me, I go to the profile page and pick one out.
Can't wait to hear about your trip.

I hoped this would be more about your fall, but it was good to read what was causing Frank's physical weakness.
The cost of meds is outrageous. I can see why you would assume what you did.

I had to get this information out before continuing about the fall. But I will post a shorty on that tomorrow. Thanks for catching the SPAG.

I see how it applies. My comment wasn't meant as criticism. I'm just anxious to hear about YOU.

Of course I didn't get in on the other chapters Shari, but I did read your last story so I don't think I will try to catch up. My oldest sister has Alzheimer's. She has had it a long time. She is 92 now. My nieces say all she does is sleep. I a found this to be very enlightening as I am always on the lookout foe any symptoms I might have. It's scary. I try to keep my mind active by writing poetry. Thanks for sharing your story. God Bless you and Frank. xxx Nancy

I'm on the lookout too. Recently, I noticed a change in my handwriting. Smaller letters and not well shaped. Bad sign. Writing is one way to save my mind, I hope. Also, I play challenging card puzzles on the internet, Think Free Cell, Klondike, Pyramid, TriPeaks, for example.
Thanks for sharing your sister's story. Sleep is a good thing for the caretaker.

These are the struggle of old age when dealing with a spouse who has health problems. My own husband in the last 4 years of his life had me on the road drive somewhere about 3 days a week. Of course we love them and will do as we need to do. Patricia

Hi, Shari

= Sometimes you wonder if the med/treatment is worth the darn side-effects.
= It has to be most difficult for the family members to watch the slow decline.
= You're right, though, you can't make your daughter come home.
= You can only tell them what's going on, and then it is up to them. In the end, they must live with their choices.
= It's good your son realized what was happening.

Thanks, Jax. I want to get to the next chapter on soon. It's a killer. Not literally tho. My patience is the thing that died.

    =I understand completely.
=You know, we all just have our limits.
=Nothing wrong with taking a deep breath and regain your senses, my friend. (*<*)

So I take it the hormones didn't agree with Frank? But with his so very low, you'd think no harm could come from adding more testosterone... right? Wrong?

They helped with his blood sugar count and maybe his energy level. But it turned out to be too frustrating to go there every two weeks.
