Your poem left me in a state to the point I wonder what most writer kill themselves or someone they love.

Thank you, MIsscookie! Thank you for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate your comments. Yes, it does make you pause for thought. So tragic when they die so young, especially if someone could have helped.

Regarding the formatting of your piece. Can you go back in to edit the size of the post? I find that what is not correctable on first post--once saved--allows me to do it on a subsequent attempt.

Your poem is interesting. I had read Cat's previously. There is much speculation that Ted was abusive and may have "driven" his two previous wives to suicide. It does seem odd both women "committed suicide" in the same manner. Hmmmmm! I guess we'll never know what really happened to them. Much luck in the contest. Marilyn

    Hi Marilyn,

I've tried to edit at least ten times. I even went back to the basic editor. (everything was fine before I switched to the advanced editor to do the colored font) It looked worse when I had a picture on. I'm at a loss for how to fix the frame thing.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Especially with them dying in the same manner, it makes you wonder. It is bad enough that he had them living in the same place... hence my 'haunting' speculation. Thanks for the great review.

I enjoyed this post a lot. I'm not a Sylvia Plath fan, but you got me to read her work today. I would wonder what's wrong with Ted too lol! Two women in his world killed themselves. Yet, I wonder if he got the hint?

Write on, Dovey. You're doing great!

Best wishes in this contest.

    Hi Joy!

Thank you for stopping by to read and review. I appreciate the comments. The ladies were all fascinating. I did read an account from someone who seemed to know about what spurred the affair between Assia and Ted. It seems she was a house guest of the Hughes family and Sylvia asked her to peel potatoes. Assia felt that was too menial of a task for her and decided to go out to the garden and set her sights on Ted... their affair supposedly began shortly thereafter.

Sylvia had tried to overdose when she was in college, too, so she had been unstable all of her adult life, it seems. I'll have to read her novel, The Bell Jar, sometime. Ted has been quoted as holding a copy of her book and saying something like, "It's not every man that is responsible for the death of a genius." He must have felt he drove her to it with the affair he had with Assia (of course, not responsible enough to end the affair) and Assia was still married to her husband, David Wevill. Assia lived in Plath's flat after Sylvia's death... I couldn't even imagine that.

Ok, now I've really gone on! lol Thanks for the great review!

In my opinion, a tribute to the poetry of Ms. Teasdale - a well constructed, fluid and exciting poem by an obviously gifted writer - I enjoyed the read, thank you...

A very well-written poem and the author notes are very informative of these three poets who take their own lives while all they had to do was to change their negative thoughts to positive ones.

    Hi Sandra!
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Since you are the first one to review, I have a question. The editor was giving me fits lol Did it come across clear with the blue font for lines from Teasdale's poems and the red font for lines from Plath's poem? It was all fine in the basic editor and looked perfect, before I went to the advanced editor to enlarge the font and add the font colors. Then it went crazy on me and made my picture huge, like it is stuck in a weird frame. Or is it just me?

    Thanks!

The colors were fine and visible. The frame is bigger than usual it spread over the whole page. It was a bit confusing at first but I figured out what is going on. I have no idea how to correct it. It seems like all you want to say is there just in a strange frame.

Thanks for the feedback :) I think I'm just not going to worry about it then, since it is all easily readable, and that is the important thing. Maybe someone will know how to fix it lol Thanks!!
