This is a very emotional chapter and you have done a superb job with it. My relationship with my sisters is so bad that if one of them dies, I doubt they will even tell me. I am so pleased you were able to spend some good time with your sister. It makes all the difference in the world. Nice work with this one.

Thanks, Val. In Chapter 73, Barb really redeems herself.

I'm using the new version now and it's difficult adjusting. I wanted to point out a spag and now it's hidden by this box.

He('s) has a support

What a pain this is. I had to collapse the box to see your text.

Oh, now I see. When I click back on the posting, the box moves over. Sorry, Shari, this is an adjustment.

Oh, don't be so harsh on Barb. It is a good thing to be able to plan for one's death.
It's wonderful how the two of you were able to reminisce ...sigh, that must have been so bitter/sweet. Hugs, Lou

I fixed the spag. I didn't thing of it as harsh to call her a perfectionist who wanted control. But I see where it's faintly damming too.

This was a lovely reunion with your dying sister. The leopard does not change its spots, so I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Suggestions:

"Me too,Shari."
"Me too, Shari."

"He's has a support group here."
"He has a support group here."

Thanks, Nicole. I fixed the spags noted. Working on the next chapter now. Remember though, Barby was a kitten before she hit rough times. That's what Dad called her.

I am glad you and Barb were able to makes amends with each other and finally she complimented you. She seems so composed even with a terminal diagnosis, but you said she is always in control of things. Excellent memoire writing that draws the reader into your story.

This chapter was great, my friend. I love it when people get along. And what better way than to remember times together while young. My opinion of your sister is changing. She seems to have a tough shell holding in her real self. This chapter I enjoyed very much. It made me think of things I did as a kid. Boy, I was a little hellion.

Best wishes to you, my good friend.

Always with respect,

I bet you were. It was nice to see the sister I remembered shed her protective gear. Even better changes are in store.

What an emotional time for memories and forgiveness written in such a way it continues to draw the reader in. It truly captures the depth of a families worries and concerns at a time of inevitable loss of a loved one. I won't comment on the last sentence, because you know you got me once again with that one.

So glad to hear the emotion came through. To this day, I still can't believe she's gone. Sixty-five years old. Exercised and ate health foods. Go figure.

I truly enjoy your style of writing as it comes across so natural making every read enjoyable and engaging. I giggled lots over the "pee thing" as it brought to mind a whole list of silliness we attribute to sex when we are young and innocent - well back when we were young as I doubt there is much innocence these days LOL. You have a small typo to look at: "maybe I'll buy try it" - I don't think you mean both here. Nicely done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Thanks for catching the typo. So glad you enjoy my style. Today's children probably figure sex out from watching TV!

LOL ... if not TV the movies are pretty explicit. It is a far cry from the Ricardo's sleeping in separate beds THAT'S for sure.

Excellent scene between you and Barb in this. You seem to come to an understanding, and each of you have regrets about past behavior. It was great of Barb to admit she was wrong about Frank not having a college degree, and she realizes that college experience isn't the measure of a man. Funny reminiscences of when you and Barb were girls--both interested in the same boy. Pre-planning is terrible to think about, but Barb's observation that she knew she was dying and had time to prepare is a good one to keep in mind. Interesting that Barb talked about her father, but not her mother. Excellent work in this. It's such a vivid portrayal. judi

You're the first to mention the irony of her dying before him. Nothing compliments a writer more than to know his story elicits strong emotions. Thank you again for the exceptional rating.

hi. I wish you and yours a good year to come. I am sorry to have been missing, and not in touch. I think of you often and wonder how the holiday season treated you, hopefully with not too much stress...
I must catch up on your story...you know I enjoy learning about you.

I love hearing from you too, pad. How is the house renovation going? You picked a good chapter to play catch-up. A real eye-opener coming up in chapter 73.
I 'm not a Christmas person as far as trees and decorating and wrapping packages go. I make some fuss because of my grandchildren ten and twelve. I guess I probably liked all the Santa stuff when young. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Easter follows.
