Scary mini story and you did a good job with it. It must be horrible to be conscious and paraliced unable to talk or move. What a horrible thought.

Chilling bit of writing. How horrible to be in that position. Imagine lying there unable to communicate but being aware of things. This is a disturbing story.

Hi there,
This was a very well written piece.
Quite an emotional little piece and takes the reader on an awakening.
Nicely penned, and good luck.

Glad you liked it. Haven't had much time for anything lately. Congrats on Recognized Writer, a great honor. Well deserved. I love to see some young blood honored, it encourages ... well, other young blood!! mikey

Nice projection, the story not the victim, of somebody intact, his spirit I suppose, firstly pleading with his lady friend, and then the realisation that the body down there was only his body, and he was intact. Well done, good, enjoyable, imaginative entry in this contest, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy.

Most welcome Mikey.

Mikey, I'd like this story more if you didn't give it
all away in the first line. And I wonder if there isn't a more poignant story in Linda's motivations, and the patient's understanding of them.
Just a thought.
Peace, Lee

I'll think about not giving it away. I see what you mean about Linda's motivations though. It's rather sterile without it. Nothing to draw the reader in. Great tip as always. Thank you. mikey

The thing about near death experiences is that most of the people who experience them don't come back.
This was a good story. It seemed very plausible and in line with other accounts of near death experiences.
Too bad we can't have the brain wired to tell us exactly what it's seeing during encounters like this.
Good job in making this a visual experience.

Glad you liked this. I'll try and find some time to sneak in a review for you. I have been reading. You have some great stuff. Donna broke her foot to add to my duties in the real world. She's taking full advantage of the situation. Yep, I do deserve it. mikey

I wonder if when we pull the plug on a loved one they know it and wish we didn't. This is a scary thought and makes me shiver just thinking about it. Great and well written poem. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

This story captures what we all hope will be that happy surprise that we go on as a better version of ourselves after we check out of this veil of tears and carry on. Nice.

Okie dokie. i had this outer body experience once. I was looking at myself about a meter above my body. Think I was extremely ill at that time. Dean has had an outer body experience. real bone-chilling spooky way he described it. Well, it fits the parameters of the 60 count limit. Surely there is one in my opinion. If you believe in Jesus, most likely, you believe in heaven or Hades. Angels do exist. Nice creativity and originality. grammar looks swell. Good luck Lion King! wackydo, or is it? Johnnie B. Bad.
