Amen. What beautiful lines and every one so true. The one that made me wince is "When I help to drive the nails on Calvary..." I've been captivated by that picture ever since Nancy (honeycomb) used it recently for one of her poems. It makes me want to cry and smile at the same time.

It is an amazing picture, isn't it? I found myself just staring at it for a long time. You can just feel the power of His love and concern.
Thank you so much for the comments about the message. I appreciate you pointing out the line about Calvary. I wasn't sure if it worked, but it looks like you got the message I was going for.
I appreciate you taking the time to read and review. God bless. Debi

Thank you for the encouraging comments. Yes, the form was a bit of a challenge, but I wanted to try writing a Villanelle and found it satisifying once completed. I appreciate your kind comments about the writing. God bless. Debi.

Hi Debi,
This is a nice expression of faith. I enjoyed how you touched upon the trails and tribulations of Christ and how He dealt with each of those challenges.
Great job bringing the stories to life on the page in rhyme.
Hope you have a great Sunday!

This should and could very easily become a prayer in churches everywhere. It is truly inspiring. I love the way repeating lines come together so perfectly throughout the poem, and then finishes the prayer with a spiritual flourish. A real pleasure to read. xsx sandra
