Oh Goodness. What a different life you have led compared to mine. I feel bad news is coming though. It is heartening to know that you were both blissfully happy, in spite of weird neighbours etc. I have just posted an account of my first birth. It will be very different from yours.

I thought I answered this but I must not have hit save. Yes, my pregancy wan't like your, I did have about an eighteen hour labor but I was in my early twenties. Problems will arise but not right away. They will be covered in the chapter.

No surprises here I am afraid! I thought that there might have been a twist! I don't know you well but for all I can tell, you have posted on the welcome page again!
I can tell by your rankings that you usually review most everyone. She is an active reviewer at # 8 that's fine but you need to offer a better fare than this!
This must be an older post revived because I you achieved all time best and yet received no rank. So I have to go away, so I will say goodbye!
have a wonderful week anyway,
Jesse

You might have noticed that I write non-fiction. This is the story of my life, and it is truthful to the point I would never put in a twist if there wasn't one. Since you won't be back, I'll tell you the baby I'm pregnant with will die from a DPT injection. How about that for a twist. I am ranked. At present number 10 as a novelist although there is no catagory for non-fiction. In 2020 I won a trophy for being number five. I have read some of your stuff, but I don't remember seeing your name among the ratings. I appreciate the five stars in spite of the fact you were disappointed.

This sounds like a true story. Every step is part of our daily life. People get married, start a family , move to a larger house, and fill the house with furniture. The last step is to wait for the arrival of the baby and fill the baby room with furniture and clothes.

Thanks for sharing this story.

It is a true story. Almost everything I write comes from my own life. This took place in 1961 in the deep south which account for why home prices were so low. Thank you so much for reviewing this.

Exciting news! What day in February was Susan born? (I'm the 17th.) What's the timeframe--I'd like to put it in context vs my childhood house, purchased in 1958 for $24,000 per my mother.

P.S. I am reviewer #26--your ATB ribbon is pending

Thank you so much for the review and comments and for being reviewer 26. Susan was born february 12 in 1961. Except for Susan, all my children has a 7 in their birthday. Carol was Feb 27, the twins Dec 17 and Connie June 7. House prices were much cheaper in the the South. We paid $12,500. with nothing down. I think the monthly payment was $84.00.

Your early marriage sounds cozy, new house, baby on the way and a new puppy. Life is looking good. A new home is always exciting and it is fun to furnish and decorate it. I am sure many can relate to your story.

You were brave to take on a new puppy when you were pregnant with your first child, Beth. At least, I assume, it would have been house trained before the baby arrived. lol It did sound like everything was falling into place for you.

A couple of little spags: "when Evan hurled (with) the teddy bear at me and missed."
"With a Cocker Spaniel mother and Heinz 57 (cur) for a father, ..."

A new baby on the way, and a puppy to house train, and a new home! All at the same time, you were a brave couple, lol!! I must catch up with your story, I've been so all over the place for months. I enjoyed reading this and it reminded me of how much I enjoyed the rest. Well done, my friend, you took a lot on at a time you should have been resting more! :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra. This is part of an earlier book and some of the stories I've rewritten in the later one, where I have a conversation with my diseased husband. I'm much older in it, and have grown children, but I've missed writing in it lately, because of a wedding and a trip our of town. I hope to get back to it soon.

I liked the phrase, lifevhad some hard lessons for us, isn't that true? The only time in our lives that's been true is when the girls were married and had left home. This is so beautifully written dear Beth, this one is relatively free of problems, blessings Roy
Typo : when Evan hurled (with) the teddy bear.

Thank you so much Roy. Yes, life is filled with both happy moments and hard lessons, but we God there through it all, to lift us up when we fall. Hah, I made a rhyme. LOL

Those wonderful days of a first house and a new baby. I can remember them as if it was last month. It's a blessing we can't know what the future holds, so we can be happy in the moment.

A great story! All these trials happen to many new families(Mine too!).
First new home, first baby, and all those arbitrary names!
Neat that you mentioned how your instincts started surfacing after you were into your pregnancy, and your home ownership changed your outlook.
There is nothing like those firsts, and the pleasure, years later of looking back on them as a stepping stone into your new life.
cheers, irish
