Nice imagery:the dawn of uninhibited youth. (Spag alert-- it's rewards should be its (no apostrophe) rewards.
I think you are describing a mid-life crises!

Got past my mid life. I was listening to some other people talking. It just got me thinking is all. I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for the great review and fun words.

Teaming with hope, full of excitement, endless possibilities, truth. Yes, you have definitely described what made youth so great. Maybe things would be different now if we knew then what we know now, but youth wouldn't have been so magical. It's the not knowing that made it so.

Amen to that. I enjoyed but I wouldn't necessarily revisit. Maybe the physical no aches and pains part, but even then... Thanks for the great review.

Teaming with hope - Teeming
life and it's rewards - drop the apostrophe
uninhibited youth - that definitely is one of the best traits of the young
I like the rhyme of youth/truth and your most insightful observations :-) Brooke

Purple tinted glasses indeed spew from this slightly poignant
poem. If-only's shadow ever more nooks, as we use our allotted
beats. But. The upside, is that along with our greying locks, comes better( and worse ) sight. This is a smasher to read and contemplate.
( She says, as she squints in front of the CD rack looking for Pink Floyd and Martha Wainwright :) Much love and kindness

I wouldn't trade where I am right now for anything. I think we start to like our selves more as we age. Thanks for the great review and the kind words.

This is a well-phrased sentiment that relates to us all. The final line "...still just out of reach" is what continues to spur us on.

Thank you. I never understood the saying Youth was wasted on the young until I hit my late forties. But I wouldn't be who I am today if I had looked before I leaped. Thanks for the great review and the nice comments.

That's always the big question, isn't it? But it's best to find out the natural way, I suppose.

I love the reminiscence this speaks of. How many of us look fondly back on our youths (only to remember how detestable we thought they were at the time?) A great ponderance of hindsight, I think. Beautifully done.

You're right, it would probably have gone the same way. Serendipity is the reason, what we know can never change that. It's how we deal with it, whatever age we are, that counts. Go for it girl, and use every bit of experience you have to make your life as full as you can - I'm feeling brave and optimistic today, let's do it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

It appears you are getting closer. Very meaning and concise of what we all have to face as we understand more of life. Good job!!! John...

I think everyone wonders what we would do different if we knew more as younguns. It is a unique time that I feel like I didn't appreciate fully.

This is a great poem and captures the feeling of looking back at our youth very well. I think it's good to remember and maybe even try to recapture that state of mind; to try and be full of energy and new possibilities. I feel like writing has given me that excitement again. :D

That's probably why I write about teenagers. I like that invincible feeling. Thanks for the nice review and the kind words.

I often ponder about my choices. I suppose we all do.
I think we are where we are supposed to be. If you look around you will probably see your rewards. Nice poem. Nancy
