Incredible! It does amaze me that even over such a distance, God worked to return a cheap watch to a little girl.
The story itself was well-written, though I did find a few spelling errors (e.g. "pealing," I believe would be "peeling," etc.) but overall it was pretty punctual.

I really liked this story. It was really heart-warming and just goes to show us what having a little faith will bring to us. The pace of the story went along fine, it wasn't too fast or too slow. Very well written. Good job.

this story was a blessing. it should be a reminder to us that need doesn't move God's hand (if need did move God's hand we wouldn't need anything). only faith moves God's hand to help us. your little girl place her faith in God and He delivered. i can't think of any changes to your post.

This is an excellent story. It really is amazing. You also wrote it very well. The story line did not flow too fast, and I really enjoyed this. Great job and good luck in the contest.

It was a very heart warming story that had a happy ending.
Your daughter was fortunate to have gotten her watch back, but I wonder how she would have reacted, had she not.
She did show faith, you showed doubt and were prepared to discuss her possible disappointment. The world through the eyes of children is a magical place.

A very nice story about your daughter. I am glad that she got he watch back and her faith remained intact. It is all too sad how jaded we become as we grow older and lose the sense of wonder and hope we have as children. A nice memory.

I think you tell the story well - good detail, good dialogue, fascinating circumstances -obviously an adorable child. However, it does nothing to convince me God honors specific requests. May 28, 1959, this same year, is the anniversary of my mother's death - I had just turned 8. I was a little girl who prayed every night, went to church every Sunday. The night she died of cancer and I was at the neighbors' house because everyone knew she would die that night, I prayed my little heart out for her to live. Of course, she didn't. I did not lose my faith, only learned that God does not operate that way or certainly he would have honored the request of a little girl for a good mother.
I can't believe He was more interested in your daughter's watch than my mother's life, so I have never since then prayed for an outcome, only for things like strength to cope with a situation. The problem with having our faith strengthened by a positive outcome is what do we then do about the logic of that way of thinking when the inevitable negative outcomes occur. Brooke

Dear Brooke, I'm sorry about the loss of your mother. I can't imagine how terrible that would be for eight year old. I realize that there are so many things we don't understand about the way God doesn't always answer prayers the way we would like. I lost my two month old baby and I had prayed my heart out just like you. I did feel his presence sustaining me through the loss and I don't know how I could have handled if I didn't have faith. The story I wrote about is what happened and I don't know how to explain it. I guess we always try to reconsile things like that so they make some kind of sense. At any rate, thank you for reading my story and giving it a good rating.

Beth, I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby - I have never lost a child and cannot imagine.
But yes, it is faith that sees us through loss of parent or child - I'm so glad we share that faith. :-) Brooke

Grest story. I was interested from start to fininsh. Just a couple of areas for you to look at:
My husband and I had decided to take a ride after work into the country to check on some property we owned. (This sentence seeem a little off, what about After work, my husband I decided to take a ride into the country to check on some property we owned?)
"anything is more important than nourishing the faith of a little child and encouraging that tender blossoming trust to grow."( I read this part several times, did you mean nothing is more important than norishing...?)
