Nicely written Sixteezkid. I found this easy to read and the words flowed really well. The picture and the colours you used to present it in worked well too. Whatever all those criteria are, I can tell you have worked hard on this. Well done.

I see you sitting there amongst your friends.
So handsome, though your jacket shows a tear,
And many of your pages have tipped ends.
How could you be so loved without this wear
a great poem with good lambic pentameter and rhyme

Well done! I'm not fond of sonnets, and think they are difficult to write. You have done very nicely. I enjoyed this fine tribute to books.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

I have got to say well done Sue, that was refined! I had visions of innocence waiting to be discovered and rediscovered, maybe that is what the story in the first addition is about? We will never know! Books, you make one want to go in search of one, right now! Good luck my little contest junkie!

Your poem looks effortless....
I know how demanding this style is.
I enjoyed your poem about books... because they are my closet friends.
Very well done.

A good poem that tries to personify books. The rhymes and rhythms were consistent, and the diction simple enough to understand. The meaning of the poem is not very clear. All the same the flow was good. kudos

Sorry you missed the meaning, Perp. Just about the love for books and sharing them. And how First Editions are rare and not used to read. But the subsequent editions are read and worn. Hope you can see it now. Thanks very much for your review. Sue
