Excellent! My dad also played the banjo (not as well as yours) and so it made me recall the fun he had picking on it. Nice imagery calling it his only toy.
The rhythm flows nicely and the rhyme is unforced.

The banjo--it's such a happy instrument. It has the capacity to deliver songs of great depth with a light-hearted approach. Make sense? Your poem has a ballad sense to it, how the banjo dredges up all these childhood memories of your father, of his songs and their imprint on your childhood.
