Thank you for sharing these most private fears. We hope sharing and prying will one day stop your nightmares. The monsters who commit these crimes do not realise the lasting effects they have on their victims.
Love and blessings.

It is agood story, jan. The fear may never go away, but you learn to live beyond it. Some days it is just easier than others. God post.

Excellent piece on how the smallest reminder can cause the past fears to invade our sleep and take us back to that horrible moment in time. You have expressed this so well, Jan. Plus, there are all sorts of terror and sorrow in this life and we need His constant love and care.

is this a true story? if so then, as moving as it is, it becomes even more so. who could understand that kind of pain unless one had experienced it? regardless it is moving and nicely written and a wonderful exercise in despair and hope. thank you.

This essay really affected me. I have never been raped, but I felt a lot of empathy for you. The ending was just marvelous--so inspiring!

Thanks for the option to review, Jan!
This is gorgeous writing...REAL, poignant and I've been there.
He hasn't given us a sprit of fear but of a sound mind and good judgement. All we have to do is tell it to go, right?
It's not always that easy but God is right alongside us and you're message is a beautiful one. You are such a kind, gentle soul!

I can't even imagine the fear that still plagues someone who was raped even it is 28 years ago. I would only offer that they must seek counseling to help deal with it.
Best wishes and Happy Mother's day.

Thank you so very much. I went through counselling after it happened. Sometimes, you just have to learn to live with the lingering effects.

I really liked reading your story. I agree, trauma affects us in different ways. I liked how your story told how God helped you make peace with your pain . This was a touching account of God's love.
