I love the scenery at this time of year, and this is a magical scene you've painted in your poem, Debi. I particularly love seeing everyone's different decorations and lights in the run up to Christmas. A well written piece, I really enjoyed reading it.

I also think there is magic in that part of the world, otherwise what is the attraction to live in such a cold place. Hahaha! Thanks, dear Debi. I enjoyed reading your Renga poem. Well done.

Oh Esostine, truer words have not been spoken. LOL. It is the curse of where you were born stigma, I guess. Then I happen to be married to a man who loves his ice fishing. So what do you do? Haha.

I so appreciate your fun review and comments. As always, my awesome friend you put a big smile on my face. Thanks again! Love, Debi

Well it for sure the children all believe that there is a lot of magic in the air at the North Pole and they could be right. There has to be come compensation for having to deal with all that snow I love the illustration as well.

Hi Beth, usually I would say we get the worst of the snow but we are mainly freezing below zero temps here in MN. But the northeastern states are really getting the snow. Big-time...
And thanks so much for the awesome review and comments for my North Country Magic. I appreciate it so much, my dear friend. Love, Debi

I've read a few Renga poems and must admit that I'm not a fan. They seem too simple to me, especially after reading some of the longer, more complex poetry posted these days.

That's no reflection on you or your poem - you've taken a picture that reminds me of what Northern Minnesota is like in winter and added the magic of reindeer. I'll have to Google the Renga poem in order to appreciate it more, perhaps.

Thanks for sharing your contribution to this book.

I hear you, Pam, but its kinda like a parade of Gypsy's only with 5 -7-5 then a 7-7 7 alternating. To tell you the truth, its not really me either, butfun to try something different. And sometimes I put too much into A. Piece . midweek and late week when no one has sixes left.

. Sorry this is sloppy - doing it from my bed on my floating iPad. Thank you so much for the honest but kind review. Love ya sis. Debi

Good for you for taking risks and trying new things. Every time I try to write poetry, I'm taking a risk, lol!

Hi Debi, I enjoyed reading your poem, and it made me wonder what is the difference between a deer and reindeer, so I researched it a bit on the internet. I learned a few things, and the amazing thing that I learned is that deer and reindeer can be milked--not easily, but still possible.
Thanks for sharing. Xo. M

Hey Sis, I did know that about the deer and reindeer but mostly because we are such a deer hunting family. My son has been doing it for weeks now. Traveled way up north and got one, his son Andrew got one and they don't give up during the season. So I do learn a lot, even though I don't care to eat venison. So thanks for your awesome comments about my poem.

As much as we are in the north country and it is blustery cold here, especially today. I'd swear the house is going to blow down. But I hear it is you guys that are getting all the snow. Watch out since we already know our weather comes your way, it this wind hits you, it could be bad. So let me know if you can't get out of your house come Friday morning. And good luck!

Thanks again, my awesome Sis. Lotsa love, Debi

I believe it! I am sure there's a lot of "magic" in all the snowy winter wonderland that you have up there. This is a fun sequel to the chain of poems that Gypsy started!

Hi Helen, thank you for your lovely comments for this Renga poem. Yes, it is blustery and the spirit of the Christmas spirit is in the air and that also some bitter cold wind, so it is just like being in the North Pole.

Anyway, just wanted to also let you know how the appointment went. Thanks again, my dear friend. Love you! Debi

I was going to ask you - planned to text you later. Now I know. We'll keep praying because God doesn't need the Oxervate to heal your eyes. But whatever He uses, we know He can heal you! Please close your eyes regularly. With the cold and heated air, I have to have a humidifier going all day and night and I keep blinking but my eyes just stick to the lids. Anyway, talking to you about it reminds me to blink often. Sending big hugs and prayers! 💖🙏🙏

I know connecting here is important for you. But I also worry about the screen time and your eyes. Yes, we'll keep praying. I'll rally the troops!

Even regular deer bring thoughts of Christmas as you see them most in November and December. Flying reindeer are the magic that brings Christmas and family to mind, the time of being with those we love. Beautiful poem with some pretty good-looking deer.

Awe, Carol, thank you so much for such lovely comments for my Renga poem. I purposely didn't mention Christmas or show Santa, yet everyone got what I was trying to say about the magic of Christmas. And you are right, even regular deer would work for that magic. Thanks again, my lovely friend.
    Love, Debi

I love this Debi from the beautiful artwork to the last line with magic in the air. I used to live where deer (not reindeer) often walked through my yard. Amazing sight especially after a snowfall.
Very nicely done.
Blessings

This was such a mood setting poem. The north country was described as a magical place. Where reindeer live and wait for that one night. Beautifully written. Gretchen
