I must admit that pears have always been my favoured fruit, even over apples, with all their great varieties, an excellent entry in this contest Melissa, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

An excellent entry for the 8 words or less poem contest. I never would have thought of this but it is actually the truth for those of us who adore a good pear but can't seem to find a decent ripe one to save our life! When we find one it is love at first taste! Thanks for sharing.

This is a very clever 8 word poem. It makes sense yet very creative. The connection between a "ripe pear" and "love" is a new thing I have ever heard.

Excellent and good luck.

Hello Lisa. Thank you for your lovely words and review. I love fresh pears.. especially ripe ones. They are one of my favorite fruits... so I tacked on the words 'love language'. LOL. Thanks again!

Perhaps you're thinking of Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov where the sexy heroine is Grushenka, which is reminiscent of "juicy, little pear." Other than that, I wouldn't know whose love language that is.
Best wishes in the contest!

Hi Helen... you are the third person to liken this verse to seduction. I just meant that I really enjoy eating ripe pears. They are one of my favorite fruits. I never meant anything naughty. LOL. Thanks for the review.

Who knew pears could be. ... sexy? I wondered why so many artists paint them. Food for thought in one line poetry.

Sending you my best today as always, dear Melissa, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

Yes - especially when they are perfectly ripe. Close your eyes, take a bite, and savor the juices, the texture, the taste.... Well done! Wish you well in the contest.
Smiles, Carol
