As a poem, this is good. I relays a message of hope, using the sun as a nurturer of life. But in today's world (with unbelievable hot days), I wonder at the choice of the metaphor.

I liked reading this poem. It reminded me of strong and hopeful slogans in marches and hymns.
The phrase: But we can .... sure holds a lot of promise and positive thinking.
Here are some other motivational lines:
Promises of a better day
A brighter tomorrow
And hope for man's souls
Sounds like a strong contender in that contest!

What a beautifully written poem! I hope that everyone will fight against the end of summer in all its many meanings. I will not give in to winter and will continue to fight to keep the world we have worked to build. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Great Poem. I always hate to see summer come to an end because that is my favorite time of the year! It seems your poem describes that just perfectly. I enjoyed reading this. I also liked the photo of the blistering sun shining down.

Interesting analogy to parallel the end of summer with the end of what is good and brings us joy. You kept the meter and rhyming pattern light so as not to obscure the point you were trying to make, and that was clever, as well. Very nicely done, Mystery Poet. I hope this serves you well in the polls. xoxo

I wondered why you had that video clip but that tone of your poem read like a speech and it's an interesting exhortation to resist the change of the season. I am puzzled because God made all the seasons. But I do like the call to bring the message of hope, God's Living Hope to save human souls.
Best wishes in the contest!

This is a hopeful and inspirational poem. We must learn our lessons, sadly usually the hard way, and work together to change things for the betterment of all and not just some. Very nice presentation and great message. Well done!

Sounds like a great political speech...amping up the crowd and yelling - Charge! Full steam ahead." Awesome and a spirit rousing poem. Thank you for sharing.

Your poem is so beautiful. It reads like a call to embrace the warmth and promise of summer. Your words share a sense of optimism that's truly motivating. Keep shining with that hopeful spirit!
