A lovely, cogent argument for a possible reconciliation.( We don't have a choice in anything, unless we have a voice).
I like the conditions you set forth: "my soul is longing to be free," and for once please listen to my voice., "we need to treat each other differently," all are cries to be heard.
The point I like best is that deception has no place in a solid relationship.

Sounds like she's talking to a wall because he isn't listening if she has to keep reminding him to hear what she has to say. Probably a good time to take her voice elsewhere with someone who might care. Great story in a poem. Thanks for sharing.

In this world today, there are so many who do not listen to others. They are so caught up in their own concerns that they forget that others have a voice and that voice needs to be heard. I enjoyed your poem, even though it's heartbreaking to know that there is those Times in life when marriages fall apart. Patricia.

Well, the rhymes are spot on but the flow is rocky to be sure since you tried to fit into each line a whole bunch of words when less would do. Sometimes, less is more. Yet I get the picture of what you are trying to say. You need time to think about it before you go back to the relationship the way it was before.

Wow! Great poem on a great subject! I really liked how you told your story in a poem. And such a difficult topic that so many people actually go through in life. Some don't want to admit and just live with it while others take action and try to correct it! Very good job! Best wishes!

Hi Brenda,
This sounds like the man is hounding her to get back together. If she has to tell him to give her time to decide, then the decision should be not to try again and find someone who will let you be the you that you want to be.
