Hello Mary,
When I was reading this, I went from laughing to fully embracing the frustration that you're feeling. I can't imagine how you deal with this- it's got to be the grace of God that keeps you going. I know that you're husband is dealing with Huntington's. I just can't remember the disease you mentioned. I pray for you both when I go to bed. I wish that I could somehow direct the hand of God and get you some relief, but for whatever reason, He has allowed this situation. Fortunately, He's not taken your sense of humor, something that is needed with what you're dealing with. Hang in there gal, I'm rooting for you!
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Tom, your words are always so comforting. I wish I could give you six stars for lifting my spirit.
I appreciate the six stars and a better reward, your prayers.

    Hello Mary,
We all find that we are need from time to time. When distance keeps us from assisting physically, we can always support each other with the power of prayer. Your stories are going to be a great source of encouragement for someone else. Nothing goes to waste in God's economy, even the pain we endure.
God bless and keep you both.

Oh my goodness Mary, you are a saint! I feel for you in this situation and it must be very hard to keep calm when these things happen. I know your husband cannot help his behaviour because he is sick, but you coping with it is very difficult for you and also frustrating. Thank you for sharing your honest story with us and I empathise, love Dolly x x x

Mary, you really have the patience of a saint! And you still have managed to keep your sense of humor.
We had the same problem with the fridge - they make them too wide and we had the same problem as our doors were too narrow. We thought they could take out the doors and move them in but they said, No. So we changed our fridge order just in time.
I'm sending your hugs and prayers for an armor of sanity and patience as you continue to give care for your husband.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you for your kindness. It is appreciated Helen. We got a smaller one delivered and his pickles are now resting on the top shelf.
Funny, I do not think he will eat them.
Thank you for the six stars, it is appreciated.
    Best wishes always

Until you have been a care giver you can't understand the sheer exhaustion that comes with the amount of patience you require. Re-doing things over and over again and re-answering the same questions zaps your energy. Good luck in the Share Your Story contest.

Until I read this article, I was under the serious misconception that I am a patient person. I am AMATEUR HOUR compared to you, Sweet and Most Amazing of Women!!!

What a STORY!! I am duly impressed.

Thank you Rachelle, I appreciate your kind words and review. I have to remember that it is his disease that cause him to go off the rail or not able to do tasks. I miss most is his sense of humor.

This story, About Pickles. is hilarious despite the inner sad story which leaves the husband in this condition. I could not stop from smiling as the in and out dance went on. So funny.

Sounds like a really bad day, Mary. TheOnly good note is that at least you have a delicious jar of pickles.

I hope you finally got your new refrigerator and all went well. Good luck in your competition!

This is hilarious! If it wasn't so sad I would say start up the band and get that man singing. But from what I hear this problem sounds overwhelming and together with the mess in the refrigerator he drives you crazy. I feel for you.
You obviously love him, but he frustrates you to the ends of the earth. I hope you can figure out the problem before there is another pickle jar in the freezer.

The things we have to deal with as we get older. Especially when acting as care giver for someone who has a problem like he does. Since he can remember and discuss the news stories, how does he react to your frustration. I can certainly understand it. I would be yelling too. Even an opened jar of pickles in a vinegar like solution would likely last a long time before going bad. I live alone with only a cat and I'm constantly screaming at him. He's hyper and constantly knocking things over and breaking them.

I appreciate your review. The guy I married was patient and considerate. If he thought he upset me he would apologize. The man I have now has changed. The illness has him impatient and unable to comprehend my feelings.
I can at least scream at my cat when he knocks something over.
