With all the characters listed have you room for more?
Secondly, I got an eerie feeling Daniel love life will crash when Julia is
In a fatal
Accident
On the way to see him
I'll see

Nah, I've already had two car crashes in the story. If I kill Julia off, it will be something like her violin is set up with a bomb that gets triggered when she hits a certain note.

I think the character list is just about complete now.

"You are a foxy-looking chicken,"... yikes, not the way to start things off on the first meet. Hopefully Daniel will calm down and settle into an enjoyable experience.

Good chapter Jim! Keeping it rolling.

Cheers,
John

Thanks, John. Not the best start to the date perhaps but no worries; it will get worse!

Brian is quite the expert now. But I think maybe Daniel needed a tad more training. The next chapter is going to be very interesting. As ever Jim, I'm impressed with your knowledge, this time of college subjects, acronyms and lingo. It all makes the story very real and readable, especially as that stage of learning is a very long way away for me, sadly:( Great job! Have a good weekend. Debbie

Brian could have done a little better job teaching Daniel expressions. If you think that was awkward, just wait....

I hope you won't get bored when we get to Part 2, Debbie, because that will be a tad more technical, but I'll try to keep it along the lines of fixing a toaster or dehumidifier.

English is a hard language to get the hand of, especially with all of our idioms. Having taught at bilingual school for fourteen years, I had quite a few interesting comments. I did the same when speaking Spanish. You're doing a good job writing this.

Thanks, Barbara. I can't imagine being a foreigner and trying to learn all our idioms without making a few mistakes. Hopefully, Daniel will learn one day.

Daniel may need a bit of help talking his way out of that opening line! It looks as though this might end up being a slightly tense double date. I wonder how Brian will handle it.

"Slightly tense double date?" Yes, that's an understatement. Hope you enjoy the next chapter where the date continues.

So much for that relationship (foxy looking chicken). I don't see getting over that.
What's keeping you from asking one out?" - Also, in the previous paragraph you refer to the girls as objects (never been out with one). Maybe if you said, "Why don't you ask someone out?"
Best wishes.

Yeah, that's going to be a tough one to overcome. It only gets worse!

That cracked me up. What a fine start. I imagine that will get better. I want to go to the store so I can make a cake with the frosting. My sister is coming today. So, watch out hips here comes cake. Good story.

Not right away it won't. It gets much worse!

Offer to have her take some home. You'll regret it if you keep it all for yourself. It's addicting!

Lol. Poor guy. He'd obviously heard a few slang expressions and got them seriously mixed up, making for a humorous start to the date. Not at the time I guess. Your characters are very human and the story is a very enjoyable read.

Thank you, Wendy. I had some fun with this and the next chapter with this date. It gets much worse!
