A well planned and beautifully presented contest entry.
The words and imagery merge as one to portray a scene of quiet, stark beauty.
It is indeed a gift to be able to write such poetry.
Blessings

Hey Shirley. I liked the idea of constellations sending their light to dance on snow... it was a fun thought. Sorry again, for my tardiness in responding. Hugs!!

That's an innovative take on the prompt! I've seen snow close up only very occasionally, but the idea of stars reflecting in it pleases me immensely. Add the silence and you have a truly magical scene.

Loved your poem from the description of the stars in the sky to the reflection of the dancing stars that move throughout the night on the sparkling snow. Best wishes in the contest!

That is a lovely picture. They do look like they're dancing. A beautiful presentation. I like the idea of constellations dancing, and that it's a ballet. I wonder if you might find a more distinctive adjective than quiet. Quiet doesn't seem to have much to do with ballet. Try for a word that describes their dance activity. Best of a luck in the contest. judi

Don't worry about being late. I always am when it comes to private messages. I always had so many of them to look over. judi

I love your metaphor of "a quiet ballet." I always wonder whether you had the photo first before writing the poem or wrote the poem first and then found the photo.

Well done.

Melissa,

Nicely presented for a season not now in the presence LOL

However, your words ( and illustration) do eloquently express that moment at wintertime in the quiet of a cold night with the stars out!

You delight us all with this magical three line poem, my friend. Your beautiful poetry dances across the pages like quiet ballet, as well. Marvelous offering in short verse poetry. Sending you my best today as always and my best wishes for the contest.
