I'm reading and thinking to myself, she's writing about Dan Vasc again, isn't she? He does seem one who paints "dark-edged hearts" and is chimeric and his singing is powerful! Best wishes in the contest!

No, it's not DV this time.
I love the guy and his music, but he has zero empathy.
The guy I'm talking about has ADHD and talk openly about his mental heath, which I find refreshing.

Daydreaming is not a bad thing, but so many times we tend to get caught up in the maybes and what-ifs, while missing out on the opportunities of what could truly be real. Afraid to take a chance. Unwilling to put ourselves out there. Holding back, as time marches beyond our grasps. :-) Thanks for sharing.

It sounds like your narrator has come across a kindred spirit who understands and comforts her. The "nectar on my lips" but unattainable except in dreams. For now.

I'm on sick leave, Pam. Too much stress. I've always loved my job, but the local government is making it really difficult for us.
At the moment there are demonstrations going on and quite a few teachers are on sick leave like me.

Advice from one who knows. Write the poem and create it line-by-line with spaces as you go. If you write the entire poem in a clump and then sub-divide it, you'll end up with this look. I know, I've tried it both ways. I hope this helps you in the future.
