I remember the moments when my choildren were small and learning these procedures and how my wife, Mary Anne woul sit on the side of the bathtub sometimes in the wee hours and potty training each. She had more patients than most mothers. Very good, Beth. Amazed at how well you remember your childhood.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Mothers are usually the ones that deal with these time consuming processes. I appreciate the six stars.

I had to laugh at your poor mother thinking you had been kidnapped and all the time you were doing what she told you to do, taking a nap. I hope you mother was suitably upset for smacking you for being a good girl and wiping your own botty! Lol! It wasn't fun being a little girl all those years ago. I loved reading this one and went back and read the previous one, I felt sorry for poor Eva and Willie, it wasn't nice of your grandmother to stop them finding love and marriage. I'll go back and read some more of these little memories of yours. I did enjoy this one. :)) Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

Sandra, I love your comments. I hope if your read back you want be disappointed. Some of the early stories aren't as amuising. I like to make them humorous if I can but somethings just aren't that funny.

I can't believe you remembered this story in such great detail, Moms are so overworked they just automatically assume things they shouldn't. To bad you got that spanking.

Thank you Joann, I got plenty of spanking but for most I don't remember what I had done. I cried not because of the pain but I upset the Mom was mad. That one I felt wasn't fair.

Each story of yours builds my impression of the most delightfully bright little girl who is simply destined, inadvertently, to get herself into trouble. I'm amazed your mother didn't remember any of that conversation, she must have been very immersed in her activities. Hardly your fault on that occasion or the one to follow. Although, as you say, timing is everything! This is a skilfully structured and engaging chapter. Only one edit found:
She ran into ever(y) room...
Well done, Beth. Take care Debbie

Your poor mother!! What a fright you gave her! I enjoyed every aspect of your humorous story, and you wrote it very well. Somewhere along the line you experienced lasting success, which is the main thing. Lol.

This may be the best story you have ever written. The words painted scenes time and again as if I were looking at a Rockwell drawings. Well done. ksanjsbdafbds

It's a thousand wonders that kids survive at all.
Well-written piece. It kept me riveted. I see toddlers well old enough to be potty trained, but still in diapers. I'm guessing that their mothers have been through it before and dread the ordeal too much.

Thank you Wayne. My twins were the hardest. They hated diapers and figured out how to take them off. I appreciate the review.

Wow, your details are unbelievable. Quite the memory, Beth! I'm lucky if I remember one or two things about my early childhood and I was at least 4 or 5. Bet your Mom felt bad after she discovered you'd done exactly what she'd told you.

That is awesome that you can remember all of that even if you have lost the diaper days, Beth.
Good news is, those diaper days will come back around. Ha!
Great read.
