What a beautiful image!
You have penned a lovely, uplifting poem here, Jesse.

'You can't hide in the shadows anymore
Now you're out in the sunlight'

Beautiful words.
Thank you

What a beautifully sad emotional read/write, yes, when we do lose someone, we somehow must find a way to move on, to become our best, and be a part of life, very well written and presented****kahpot

A fine poem about your present state, and I see you are missing him a lot, yet becoming accustomed to the thought of moving on with your own life, and finding fulfilment in other areas. Best wishes.

Very nice complementary picture art choice. I think dolphins are one of the coolest animals.
"Knowing your close friendship is over" Oh, so sad. :-(
"So happily, let him go and move on" Ah, that's the spirit!
Nice rhymes with lost/cost and anymore/core.
Good poem with a good message--life goes on, with a flourish, despite a loss.

Dare to dream seems to be the message here, dreaming of a better existence, a better and non worrying way of life is better than hope and faith lost, beautifully written Jesse, well done, blessings Roy

I remember with total clarity the day my once best friend of all time parted and we have never seen each other since. I thought I would be sad, but surprisingly, I was not sad at all. In fact, in retrospect, I did not feel anything at all. I enjoyed the friendship while it was fresh and we were both dealing with the pressure of growing up. Once it ended, there was complete closure and I was okay with that.

My breakup is not that easy. David might have dementia so I am not sure he is of sound mind. He is pulling away and I have to move on. He says he is happy living with his son. I respect that.
We were friends for almost twenty years so it is hard to let go. We have both changed. Maybe it is for the best.
Thanks for sharing and for letting me share.

Hi Jesse, you've penned a heartfelt poem. Letting go is not always easy, but it's healthy, and it's freeing. It allows for healing and the time to find anew. Memories are forever, and can be cherished forever. So, while he moves on to swim with the dolphins, you are free to soar with the eagles to heights unknown. Your poem has good sensory appeal. I wish you well during this time. Margaret

I respect that you've come to such awareness, and that you've made the choice to come "out in the sunlight" and not "hide in the shadows." The only way we can deal with our reality, good or bad, is to face it head on, and it sounds like that's what you're doing. I hope that, what you ultimately discover, is what you're hoping to find, and that it brings you happiness.

    Hello Michele.
    Thanks for your respect.
My choice to come out in the sunshine is important to my well-being.
Discovery of the future is anyone's guess.
Happiness is a choice. I've learned that as I grow older it becomes clearer every day.
    Have a great Sunday.
    Jesse

A fine poem, Jesse. The cost of emotional attachment can be high, but where would we be without it? Loss can be grievous but memory is precious. Embracing self-awareness and moving on does not deny the past but enables one to face the future with sunshine in the heart. What a beautiful outlook.

When relationships are in difficulty, it can feel like you're in a very dark, cold place, distant not just from the partner but from everybody else. Your beautiful post, presented with inspiring visual and sunny backdrop, perfectly reflect the sentiment in your verse that now is not the time to hide away but to embrace the truth at the heart of your new future. After all, as someone wrote the other day, you're never lonely when you're content and confident with who you are. Thanks for sharing, Jesse. Take care Debbie
