That's good information to know. Here in Australia EV sales are increasing for city use, but not for country regions as the distances between towns (and charging stations) is far too great.

This was extremely well done. I love researched stories. I had actually been thinking about a hybrid. Of course having no chimney I would have to pay for it myself. Forewarned is forearmed and all that. Thanks for your hard work. Karen

This is an excellent post. It pleasantly surprised me that you provided the facts to support my gut feeling that the goals set by the government are not attainable. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

I was interested to read this, Brett, as my daughter and her husband bought a Tesla EV a couple of years ago. They haven't encountered any problems or additional expenses yet. No fuel or maintenance costs. For local travel they are able to power it almost exclusively using excess generation from their household solar panels. Last year, they drove down to us for Christmas in it. Brisbane to Adelaide, a little over 2000km.
Maybe they have just been lucky.
I thought your essay well constructed, clearly presented, and appropriately referenced.

Well done. I'm glad we don't drive anymore. Nearly 5 years off the road, now. Heard the joke about the woman trying to fill an electric car with gas? Or the other one filling the gas vehicle with diesel?

I must admit they're out of my price range I'm afraid, and if they are problematic then that's another problem of the economic kind. Thanks for sharing this great post Brett, you've got me convinced, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing this post with us. I read somewhere that two of the large car makers, Ford, and another I can't remember, I think GMC, but not sure are stopping production of the EV's because they remain on the lots, nobody's buying them. I enjoyed readign.
