This is an excellent story. I enjoyed reading it. Your presentation is very good, too. You also use descriptive words and colorful imagery that draw in a reader. I like that Sunny brought so much relaxation and understanding between people. The cats we've had and dog, have always done that, too. They use their senses, not prejudgments. People can learn so much from animals.
Best wishes!

Exactly what I hoped readers would get from the story. We humans are too much influenced by appearances, and animals don't care about such things. I'm glad you enjoyed this story.

We've been looking after our daughter's young, exuberant, female Rottweiler, as well as our Moodle, 5kg dog, Cinta is about 45kg, but they are the best of friends, but our Moodle is the boss boy, there is a huge discrepancy in their size. Yes, we dog sit Cinta three days a week. Dogs can bring people together, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thank you for reviewing - that was my message exactly, pets have no thought about appearance, and they bring people together.

I read this last night but have no idea why I didn't write a review. I must have been interrupted and forgot to write the review or wrote it and forgot to save it. We always take Harley when we travel. He right beside me now in the hotel. We're on our way home now. I know Sunny is grateful you took him.

Yes, I could never leave him behind. He would be distraught. Many thanks for reviewing again.

This one hit a home run for me today with a good introduction, good story, a change of heart, and a little dog at the center who brought everything together with his sweetness. You even had a good lesson to round out the piece.

What a beautiful story and beautifully written, Wendy! I love how you weaved the story of how Sunny had a natural and unassuming way of diffusing an awkward situation and never allowing it to interfere with his natural love and affection. We could lean much from our little canine friends. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much John. We can indeed learn a lot from them, especially about accepting all people as they are. I do appreciate your very positive words.

Another delightful episode in the life of therapy dog Sunny. He certainly is an intelligent little chap realising he can't always do his job at ground level. Many dogs like going for a swim but very few enjoy rhe bath. it must be the shampoo.

You write so compellingly and seem to find the good in so many situations which is always a joy to read. I know it helps to see the world through the eyes of that wonderful dog of yours and I love the way you switch from yourself as narrator effectively to Sunny. It's smooth and seamless and adds that extra dimension to your very inspiring story. Thanks for sharing, Wendy! Debbie x

I loved how honest you were about feeling a tad less, no that's not right. Feeling on a different plane than Jana. Sometimes people don't like what they see in the mirror. You're a lit like me. Granted I hate having my picture taken but I'm okay with who I am and what I look like. Earned every gray hair, wrinkle and stretch mark. And damn proud of it. Lol. Thank goodness for Sunny the ambassador of friendship. Great piece. Gretchen

Yes, sounds like we are a bit the same. I accept myself and don't have any desire to be different, although I feel I live in a different world from Jana's lifestyle ... But she is the sweetest person. Yes, Sunny is the ambassador of friendship - what a super expression. Love your review, many thanks.

Aww. Another lovely tale (lol) about your doggy. How good they are at breaking the ice. Love your wise words about first impressions. We are all guilty!

Thank you! Yes, they have the knack of bringing people together. We can learn so much from dogs. Not only about not judging a book by its cover but also about remaining accepting of oneself and not allowing oneself to be intimidated by others. She became a lovely friend.

Yea for Sunny! Dogs don't understand bleached hair, fake lashes, and enhanced attributes - they just understand love and being petted:-)
As a trainer working in gyms for 20 years, I met all kinds of people. Another trainer once said to me, "Find the common thread between you and each person you meet, and you'll find a way to get along and even become friends." I've always remembered that and still look for a common thread when I meet someone I'm initially put off by.
For you and Jana, it was your dogs. The rest came naturally.
Look forward to your other stories.
