I enjoyed this and think these personal experiences of the girls' father will be much more interesting for them that the previous prompts I read. The language and nick-names really bring this letter to life and you seem to be enjoying yourself much more, Barbara. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Andrew, my husband's name. A fantastic name. A fellow intellect and hunk, so I believe.

A well woven story that sends a great message.

Thank you Barbara,

Jacqueline

I love this story about your son, and his absolute determination to play football. He certainly sought after and followed his dreams.

Too bad about the knee injury, but, as stated, he continues the spirit of determination.

Have a great weekend,
Rhonda

I recently read another one of your stories that you plan to give to your grandchildren and I enjoyed it... And, I happened upon a second one... Such fun and so nice.

Nicely done. Saw nothing to comment on.
I know of several mothers who refuse to allow their sons to play contact football: head and neck injuries, spine injuries, other permanently disabling injuries. And for too many coaches, winning is everything, even at the players permanent expense. Even your Andrew lost a West Point spot.
Best wishes with your project.

Thank you for the support. So true, but Andrew swears you can't get a high that equals winning a football game. I should ask him now that he's a father. I wonder if I'd get the same answer.

Good job, Barb. I am not a football fan for kids. Too many of them end up with injuries that haunt them later in life. My boys played basketball and baseball.

Thank you for the support. My boys played those sports also. The worst injury of any of my sons was a basketball injury. They don't wear pads.

Teenagers are always interested especially in their parents as youngsters. As such this is an invaluable post, although a bit more about the emotions demonstrated by their father might have been good. kay

This is my favorite so far! I love the story, and I think the grandkids will too. I like the nickname you gave your son, and I admire his drive.

Thanks for sharing, Barbara.
