Oh yes, the hunting for his horn is the most ludicrous of all time, poor endangered creature, they can be dangerous if aroused, but as you say Yvonne, they don't harm other animals, they just want a peaceful life like we do. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Well penned and supportive of your cause.
Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder whilst the translation of what
beauty actually is, is truly in the eye of the beholder.

Since childhood, I have been fascinated with the rhinoceros. All God's creatures are beautiful, including this "noble beast".
Thanks for sharing your poem and your feelings for this creature with us.

Yvonne, I enjoyed reading this flowing FreeVerse. I see you picked up a bit of internal rhyme and that really enhanced the theme. I enjoyed your showcasing the rhino and how you wrote a lovely tribute to this endangered beast. Well done.

Thank you. If only we could stop poachers from killing them.

Great comments on the rhinoceros. They look formidable, but as you write they are herbivores and not a threat. I confess I don't see the beauty in them, but as you write they are large and majestic. All creatures have their unique beauty. Sometimes an animal's beauty can be in the way it moves. Great details to make your point about the rhinoceros. judi

Excellent poem about the rhinoceros. They won't win a beauty contest but they are beautiful in its own way.
The free verse is not forced and flows well.
the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Hello Yvonne,
Well, I don't suppose that the rhino would make the list of the top ten most beautiful creatures on earth, but he is unique, and that I guess makes him beautiful. It's criminal that certain cultures would believe that garbage about their horns. It runs in my mind that in some countries where rhinos are, the horns have been removed in an effort to make them less of a target. How very sad, for the animal to be mutilated in order to preserve his life. You choose such interesting subjects gal. Well done.
Have a blessed day.

Thank you. I think they are lovely creatures. Removing their horns is sad, but it saves their life.

This is a very well written poem about the rhinoceros. It is an amazing creature, created by God. Just because it looks different it does not make it ugly. It is unique! Thank you for sharing! love and blessings, Teri

You're right. Thanks for reviewing.

I agree. The rhino has a unique beauty all its own--something akin to the unique beauty of a bulldog with its pushed-in face.
Makes me wonder, though. What constitutes beauty to another rhino? A bigger horn? Tinier eyes? A thicker neck? I guess we'll never know, but it's fun to think about.
This was an interesting poem, and I learned something about the rhino's horn. Jim

Thank you so much for this great review. I don't know what attracts one to another. Personality, maybe. hahahaha

All of God's creations are beautiful in their own way. Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I enjoyed reading and do see the regality of the rhinoceros. I can see no way to improve this poem.
