Animals and mirrors are funny and I have seen some of the silly antics when they see themselves and perhaps think it is another animal behind the glass, your Haiku made me smile Jessica, love Dolly x

Oh no ha ha We only have one cat now but, for some time, we had cats and a dog. They actually got ong, until our dog YAPPED. She was the sweetest little Yorkie, but just a BIT excitable. The cats would be lounging, then abruptly wake to the YAPP!! it was one of those sad but super hysterical, things. I really enjoyed reading your writing. It's clever and funny and, it brought back good memories! :)

I have heard of such mishaps, but never witnessed one.
Easy to see this whole scene as dog spies cat and chases.

Clever cat, Jessica, luring the dopey dog with her reflection in the mirror while sleeping. I love stories where cats outsmart dogs, being a cat person, myself. This was an amusing haiku with a great accompanying picture. Well done! Jim

Jessica awesome great poem! Gave me a chuckle! I wonder if it's supposed to be a 5 7 5 count or 4 9 4 ? Not sure. Honestly I'm an amateur and have never heard of these types of poems until I got here! I appreciate your advice. However having said that your problem in itself aside from syllable count is a very good poem very cheery makes me chuckle and it brings back memories of my own animals goofing off together so I thank you for that! Great work!

Thank you Lea! Trust me, I'm with you on that. I hadn't written much haiku before joining here, either. I've definitely developed and appreciation for Japanese poetry since, though!! I could be wrong - I'm gonna double check, but I believe the rule for haiku is 17 syllables or less, although 5/7/5 is the most common. Thank you for your review!!
