Oh, dear, you have had a stressful week. I hope the animal welfare people take your notice seriously. Those poor dogs deserve better.
I was hoping for better news about your phone and credit cards, but will continue praying that it all works out well.
Sorry to hear about missing the therapy dog appointment. Sunny seems upset to have missed it too. How frustrating that they came to fix your car and then took the battery back. What a day!
Here's hoping you have a turn of events and things start going better soon.

Thank you so much. A very encouraging review. I have filled in the form, but will have a discussion with the neighbours first, before sending it. I am hoping that once they know there is a report hanging over their heads they will try better. Meanwhile, the dogs are much less stressed, and not barking much at all. Less aggressive, and not hurling themselves at the fence, which I now see was their cry foir help or an attempt to escape.

Well I hope your husband approaches that SOB neighbor and gives him a piece of his mind for speaking to you as he did. That's not called for!
Too bad you didn't get the c/c number and 3 digit security code ahead of time from your husband.
Oh well...

Thank you John. I actually had the security code correct, but because my phone and bank cards are lost, David had locked the possibility of withdrawal to $200 (so we could see if any attempts were made to use our cards, but they wouldn't be able to empty the account). The battery cost $215! So that was why it didn't work.
That guy was not the neighbour, but a friend or relative who had been given the task of minding the dogs. I think his anger and abuse reflected his guilt and fear that failure to do what he'd been asked could result in big trouble for the owners and for himself. Thanks so much for reviewing and encouraging.

That collar is another level of cruel in this already cruel saga.
I am so sorry to hear of your distressing week! The dog sitter surely could have asked you not to interfere without becoming abusive!
And poor Sunny doesn't understand dead batteries.
I hope things get better, but those neighbors may be an issue. I hope not.
The poor animals are the losers here:-(

I think he was abusive because he was afraid that his negligence would get him and the owners into trouble. The sad thing is that the vulnerable animals are indeed the losers. I appreciate greatly your review. Thank you so much.

I am exhausted. I couldn't read fast enough hoping something good was going to happen. I am so upset for you. I'm glad you are a writer, so you can tell people who will understand what you are going through. I'm still praying your phone will turn up so you have your pictures.

Thank you so much. That would indeed be a wonderful miracle. I think when I get a new phone, my son will be able to get the photos from the cloud. Meanwhile, I am trying to get addresses and contact details of friends and relatives. I appreciate your encouraging words.

I'll share in that cup of tea. I can't help but believe things will get better. I do hope you went ahead and turned those people in. They so deserve it. You know the truth. Thank you for sharing. I am praying for this situation.

Thank you for prayiing, and please ask that I'll have wisdom. That guy has to be lying, and I can still only see one water bowl, empty. The form is filled in, and ready to send, but I was hoping to have some sort of conversation with the owners and ask them to change their ways - with the threat of a report hanging over them. Thanks so much for reviewing.

That must've been one very distressing day that you have gone through. What with the dogs and the battery being dead and the fact that you have no way to get back-and-forth to where you wanted to go that must be distressing. I wish for you that the car will have a new battery and that you will be able to go places from now on without having to call somebody to help you. Patricia

Cannot animal control or humane society step in on this? That is funny that he told you to go away while standing on your own porch. Our neighborhood is dealing with a similar problem, and nothing seems to done about it. I know the frustration you're suffering at everything happening at once.

They are slow to get involved unless there is an act of cruelty eg beating or kicking, or there are protruding bones etc, but the form is filled in and ready to go. I want to speak with the neighbours when they get back and see if they will listen to reason. I had been hoping they would change their ways if there is a threat of report hanging over them. Meanwhile I am continuing to look after the dogs. The guy didn't fill the water bowl yesterday - although he declared they had four bowls of water. I can only see one empty bowl. Thanks so much for reviewing.

You're fighting a losing battle. People like this never change. Be careful. It could turn ugly!

I don't drink, but I'm thinking you might want more than tea!
Wow! What a day!
Well written post. Good work. Sorry Sunny didn't get to go to the therapy session.

What a disasterous day you had. I certainly wouldn't like to be in your husband's shoes when he arrives home, as I presume you are going to vent, not only about the car battery payment, but also about the other things that affected you. His head will be spinning. kay

Lol. Writing my frustration probably saved his skin. His first words were an apology. He'd been called in to a meeting. Thanks so much for reviewing. Appreciated.

Oh, Wendy, I am so sorry for your trials!!!! It is always unfair when those who are working the most diligently to do the right thing suffer the consequences of those who did the wrong thing. My heart goes out to you--and to the dogs next door. Did your nice neighbor purposely locate the intended caretaker to let him know what was happening or what?
Sometimes when it is darkest, the sun is about to come up and I pray that is the situation for you. This too shall pass! Good luck. ann

Thank you Ann for a lovely review, and greatly encouraging words. Yes, I think he wanted to let him know that I was planning to report the owners in order to give him a fright and make him be more responsible, but instead he tried to ignore his guilt by attacking me and accusing me of lying.
Did you mean to give four stars? That's okay if you did, because it's not a "proper" story.
Wendy

Absolutely I did NOT intend to give you 4 stars!!!! Apparently I did that to others as well yesterday. Must have been trying too hard to get as many in as possible in a short time. My apologies and the rating has been corrected. ann

Oh Ann, that's absolutely fine. It's very easy to do. I appreciate that you changed it for me.
