How di'=d I miss this post!!! It is super, but I must point out, Terry, that 'in one's prime is a state of mind'. In my humble opinion you are in your prime in so many ways. One's prime comes in physical, mental, emotional, physcological terms. It also comes in wisdom, in knowing what life is really about, confidence, in not giving a care about paying $12 for grapes, for realizing we only have this very minute -- nothing else is promised. Again, there are many primes of life and today you are likely in ony of those.
I love your post. I love humor. I found a lot of things in the post to make me smile and to make me think. Geez! Terry, you may be in your prime of story-writing. lol Thanks for sharing your thoughts and creating a bright spot in my day. ann

I enjoyed this very much, for it's humor and for the thought-provoking theme. You do have a way of making the mundane seem important and also humorous. The best humor, I think, is when we can laugh at ourselves. You are very good at that. This was well-worth the time it took to read it, and I'm so far past MY prime, I don't have much time left, I'm afraid. (I've been sick, so have had some time to think about time.) My best to you. Keep up the great work. MM

A neat little meandering about prime. I'm surprised you didn't mention when beef cattle are in prime. Since prime beef is my favorite prime now.

This piece flows well. The narrative stays on point. The images are clear. The language is free and easy. The conclusion is neat with a small twist at the very end.

Thanks for a good read.

Interesting on your story of Amazon prime and I agree the subscription is a lot of money. I have enjoyed reading your story. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing!

Your lengthy introduction hooked me. Perhaps because I remember THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE (both the book and the movie) and the song "Jean," I could instantly relate to the narrator. Defining one's prime is indeed difficult. Mine also ended with the loss of hair. One small flaw: Did your 195 pounds of muscle have curly red hair?

I can relate Terry, especially to the opening of the jars. Loved the, don't even like pickles, humour. I loved this one Terry. It gave me many chuckles as I was drinking my pre-brekky cuppa. Loved the woman in the supermarket with the apples. Thanks for the laughs,
cheers,
valda

That's a good question. I don't have a clue when I lost my prime. I'm pretty sure after having my first child, I wasn't in my prime any longer. LOL I'm wanting to know what the specialist say about when we're in our prime. I enjoyed reading.

For not being in your prime now, I think you do very well in the writing category. You gave the right answer to your friend. Relationships come at anytime, prime or night. My prime time is 8-11, watching t.v.
Keep writing/Tom

$12 a bag for grapes! That must be some big bag (I would hope).

This is a wonderful story that will resonate with many of us. I do know when I was in my prime physically, but I feel like I'm still in my prime as far as circumstances go.

Right now, I'm living the dream in Florida and hope to do so for many more years before my "prime" runs out.

I love your musings here:-)

Pam, those grapes were a standard bag size, but they were at Whole Foods, at least double what it cost at other stores. Thanks for reading. Terry.
