This is absolutely great. You really tied this story up nicely. I have only one question and I might have missed the answer in my hurry to get to the final conclusion, but I didn't see anything mentioned about Charles at the end. Did he die when all that furniture was thrown on top of him in the trap?

It's awesome when you discover a friend actually loves your work and found enjoyment in every chapter. (I think someone probably dug Charles out of the hole).
